CRESTVIEW WASHES WATERLOO AWAY

COLUMBIANA OH- Crestview is looking to make their second straight trip to a district championship game this season. Their journey got started on Wednesday as they battled a physical Waterloo team. A late run let the Rebels put the game away 41-27.

Krista Perry paced the Rebels with 13 points. She was the only player in the game for either team to get in to double figures. Ashton Hughes contributed 7 points for the Rebels, and Mara Halas added 6.

Rose Couts led Waterloo on the night with 9 points. Brooke Waldeck saw her basketball career end with a 7 point performance.

Crestview advances to host LaBrae in the sectional finals on Saturday at 1:00. The teams split their regular season matchups, both winning at home.

NOT YOUR AVERAGE PERRY TALE

COLUMBIANA OH- Krista Perry has been a lynchpin in the Crestview Rebel’s girls basketball program for so long their opponents have to feel like she’s been there forever. In reality it has been four years of dominance from the Rebel’s star. Perry has gotten more and more confident as the years have gone on, and it also has made her game more versatile as a player. She does not just score her points in the paint, she has now developed a deadly outside game that has become a problem to every one that has to game plan for the Rebels. roster.

Perry has also worked hard on her leadership skills. Vocal leadership has not always been easy for her. She has gotten better, and better at not being afraid to speak up with her team and lead the young players on the roster. Krista has always been able to lead by example however, and her endless work ethic has constantly shown the players that come in the program what the standard is.

This season Perry hit her 1,000th point, and also put herself as third on the Rebels all time scoring list. But she has plenty more goals to accomplish as tournaments approach. Krista is looking to lead her team to a district championship, and it will be hard for anyone who lines up against her to shut her down.

Anthony Hartwig had the chance to talk with Krista this week to talk about her career and senior season. They also discuss her work ethic, future goals, and much more. Don’t miss this exclusive interview with one of the best girls basketball players to come through the Crestview program. “Not Your Average Perry Tale.” is live!
