HOWLAND BASKETBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP 1) WITH DAN BUBON

WARREN OH- The Howland community is geared up and ready for another high school basketball season! On the boys side of things for The Tigers basketball team, Head Coach Dan Bubon is back for another season as Howland’s skipper. Going 14-12 a season ago, The Tigers see it as a place to pivot into this season.

Playing, once again, in the very tough All American Conference (AAC), Howland looks to compete better and potentially for the conference championship this year in what looks to be a wide open and competitive year in the AAC. However, The Tigers open the campaign on the road in a non-conference bout on Wednesday, November 27th against The Lakeview Bulldogs with a traditional 7 p.m. opening tip-off.

As we get ready for opening day, YSNs Ty Bartell got the chance to have another great conversation with Coach Bubon. Talking about the expectations of the season, the AAC and expanded playoff divisions are also highlighted in this edition of Coaches Corner. HOWLAND OH- When it comes to The All-American Conference (AAC) in boys basketball, it is a gauntlet to say the least. However, this season feels like any one of the five representing teams in the conference can claim the AAC crown at the end of the season. Including The Howland Tigers! A very young team a season ago, achieved above expectations, sporting a 12-12 record in their previous campaign, Howland looks to build off the .500 record.

Head Coach of The Tigers, Dan Bubon got the chance to chat with YSNs Ty Bartell about the takeaways from last year, the competition inside the conference and the goals for The Tigers this year. HOWLAND. OHIO- The Howland Tigers boys basketball team has had a season filled with tough matchups against teams including Ursuline, Warren JFK, and Canfield. The Tigers have been led by Head Coach, Dan Bubon, who has best prepared his team in any which way he can. The Tigers will have a well balanced meal to take on this Saturday, when they take on the Mentor Cardinals. Bubon will ready his squad for a chance to take a trip to the District Semi-Final as they will take in one game at a time.

Coach Dan Bubon had the opportunity to chat with YSN’s Matt Morrison to discuss the matchup against Mentor and as well as the things that have have accomplished throughout the season. Check out this exclusive interview only on YSN!

HOWLAND OH- If you know much about the scope of high school basketball in the area, you know the Howland Tigers are always a team in the conversation. A successful season isn’t just a goal, it’s an expectation. 2021 is no different, with the Tigers returning a core group of leaders they will be a tough team to beat. They’ll look to throw their hats in the ring of the AAC.
