VIKINGS RUN FOR SECOND WIN IN A ROW

ATWATER OH- Waterloo is doing their best to give its players a positive step in the right direction. A 48-8 romp of East Palestine gives them their second win in a row as they continue regular-season action.

Cody Stump was able to run all over the field much like he did last week. He found pay dirt 4 times on the night. Joe Thomas had a productive night as well punching it in twice for the Vikings.

JD McBride found Tyler Bistarkey through the air before the half for their only score of the night.

Waterloo is set to match up against Matthews next week. East Palestine looks to finish out the year with Campbell Memorial and Lowellville.

EAST PALESTINE FOOTBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP. 4) WITH TONY FOSTER

EAST PALESTINE, OH – Coming off a very entertaining 15-14 victory over Ashtabula St. John last week head coach Tony Foster and the East Palestine Bulldogs are looking to keep the momentum rolling as they prepare for another road test in week eight. The ‘Dogs will travel out to Waterloo this week to take on the Vikings this Friday night.

YSN’s own Bulldog, D.J. Yokley, had the pleasure of catching up with Coach Foster this week to discuss the big win last week, what we can expect from the team this week, and what some keys for victory are this week against Waterloo.

BULLDOGS SNAP DROUGHT, EDGE ST. JOHN

GENEVA, OH- The Village of East Palestine is now pushing a collective exhale.  For the first time in 722 days, the Bulldogs were able to outscore their competition 15-14 over Ashtabula St. John.

Both teams were active in the first half, as all 29 points were scored in the first and second quarters.

Tyler Bistarkey led the way with a big day.  The junior ran the rock 22 times for 140 yards and a pair of touchdowns.  Tommy Shasteen toted the pigskin 5 times for 57 yards, and JD McBride kept the ball 5 times for 23 yards.

The Bulldogs (1-6) will await word from Windham to confirm the Week 8 matchup.

EAST PALESTINE, OH – As the football season continues to count down the weeks, head coach Tony Foster and the East Palestine Bulldogs are continuing to improve and build momentum. This week, week seven, the Dogs will travel up to SPIRE Institute to take on the Ashtabula St. John Fighting Herald!

YSN’s fearless leader, D.J. Yokley, had the opportunity to sit down with Coach Foster this week to discuss their upcoming match up with Ashtabula St. John, some of the takeaways Coach has from this season so far, and much much more!

BEARS SHINE IN STAMBAUGH

YOUNGSTOWN, OH- Leetonia comes into tonights matchup (4-0) to take on East Palestine (0-4). The Bears would start off the half strong as Marco Ferry woud score for three touchdowns with a 35,55, and 30-yard rushing touchdowns. Dylan Lennon would also help the Bears by throwing for two touchdowns to Jordan Baker (55-yard) and Jaedon Finely (6-yard). Leetonia would go into half up 37-0. Leetonia would keep up the scoring going into the second half with a Hayden Cibula 10-yard rushing touchdown with a Katelyn Todd extra-point extended their lead to 44-0. A couple of drives later Leetonia would score again with a Noah Riffee 2-yard touchdown and a Todd extra-point to make the score 51-0. East Palestine would get on the board during the game as late in the 4th with Thomas Shasteen getting the bulldogs their first score and to make the final 51-7.

Leetonia will advance to (5-0) on the season and stay undefeated as East Palestine will fall to (0-5).

BULLDOGS TAKE A BITE OUT OF LISBON

LISBON OH- East Palestine earned a hard fought victory inside the EOAC on Thursday night with a four set victory over Lisbon (25-23 19-25 25-18 26-24).

Malynn Bistarkey led the Bulldogs attack with 10 kills on the night. Mia Lee put in a solid night with 14 digs, and 9 kills. Gia Brestelli led their defense with 16 digs.

For Lisbon, Brooke VanGiesen finished with 13 digs, and 6 kills. McKenna Dailey played amazing defense and collected 37 digs. Eliza Baker set up 19 assists.

East Palestine will look to continue to roll as they travel to Warren JFK on Monday. Lisbon will travel to Malvern.

OSBORN AND LIONS WRECK PALESTINE

COLUMBIANA OH- Makayla Osborn had an unbelievable night Wednesday as Heartland Christian took a four set match over East Palestine (24-26 25-17 25-22 25-18).

Osborn finished a stellar night with an eye popping double double totaling 28 kills, and 15 digs. She also served up 3 aces. Emma Hall also had a double with 19 digs, and 18 kills. Lydia Wilson was on point setting, as she collected 51 assists, along with 8 kills.  Jessica Brunk had a solid night too with 16 digs and 6 kills.

For East Palestine, it was Emily Berger leading the way with 10 kills. Morgan Cheurco finished with 18 assists. Mia Lee also has a nice night with 9 kills.

Heartland will look to continue their winning ways on Thursday as they host Lordstown.

Em East Palestine will look to get back on the right course as they travel to Lisbon on Thursday.

COLUMBIANA PUTS DOWN BULLDOGS

COLUMBIANA OH- Columbiana continued a dominant stretch through the EOAC on Tuesday with a sweep of East Palestine to improve their record to 12-2 (25-21 25-23 25-12).

Tori Long led the Clippers with 6 kills, and 6 digs. Grace Witmer had a great day all over the stat sheet. She finished with 13 assists, 10 digs, and 5 kills. Julia Rapp totaled 7 digs, 5 kills, and 4 aces. Maddie Witherow had 12 digs, 4 kills, and 3 aces.

Columbiana has some time off before they travel to Springfield on Monday. East Palestine will try to bounce back on Thursday as they travel to Lisbon.

LISBON GRABS FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON

EAST PALESTINE OH- Someone was going to come out of week 4 with their first victory between Lisbon and East Palestine, and Lisbon’s offense made sure it’d be the Blue Devils. They would go on to roll to a 39-13 win.

Ryan McCollough ran like a machine for Lisbon. He left the Bulldog defense in the dust gaining 260 yards of offense. His team totaled 317. McCollough found the promise land 5 times on the night.

Lisbon is now 1-3 and will try to build on the win as they host Valley Christian in week 5. East Palestine is still looking for their first win as they head to Leetonia.

PALESTINE STEAMROLLS EAGLES

YOUNGSTOWN OH- East Palestine Volleyball dominates Valley Christian on Thursday in a three set sweep. (25-12 25-12 25-4).

Mia Lee and Emily Berger both led the Bulldogs offense with 7 kills. Morgan Cheurco set up the offense nicely racking up 22 assists. McKenna Griffith served up 8 aces.

East Palestine will host Leetonia on Tuesday. Valley Christian will travel to Columbiana on Tuesday.
