IT’S YEMMA TIME!

NEW MIDDLETON, OH – The Springfield Tigers are currently sitting at 6-0 in the 2020 season as they look to repeat their success from last year’s state finals run and that success can be shared amongst many but Lukas Yemma has been one of those key contributors on both offense and defense for the Tigers. This season, Lukas has been all over the field on offense, primarily as a wide receiver but has also seen some time in the backfield. Yemma has produced wherever he’s lined up as he is averaging 18.5 yards per reception but also 9.8 yards per carry as well. Defensively, Lukas has made a name for himself as a shut down defensive back for the Tigers this season too.

YSN’s own, Steve Leslie, had the opportunity to sit down with Lukas this week via video chat to talk about what the Tigers are looking to do moving into the playoffs, some goals that he has set for himself and his team, how being a leader on this Springfield team as been this season, what his plans are for after high school, a rapid fire question session about some things people might not know about Lukas Yemma, and much more! URSULINE FOOTBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP. 3) WITH DAN REARDON

YOUNGSTOWN, OH – It is no secret to anyone in the Youngstown area, the Ursuline vs Cardinal Mooney football game is always one of the most anticipated games in the Mahoning Valley and nobody knows that better than head coach Dan Reardon. This week, his Ursuline Fighting Irish squad will take the field in Stambaugh Stadium as the home team, looking to repeat what they accomplished last season and knock off Cardinal Mooney again.

YSN’s own “Holy War” expert, Steve Leslie, had the opportunity to chat with Coach Reardon this week to talk about the “Holy War” and what his mindset is going into this week six match up, but also what Ursuline needs to do to get some momentum before the playoffs start, and any insight Coach might have for us involving the playoffs and where he thinks the Irish might line up in the bracket.

SPRINGFIELD FOOTBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP. 4) WITH SEAN GUERRIERO

NEW MIDDLETOWN, OH – Coming off another very impressive display of Tigers football in week five, Coach Sean Guerriero and the Springfield Tigers rolled to their fifth straight win as they defeated the Waterloo Vikings, 56-6. Up next for Springfield will be a road test, as they will travel up to Jackson-Milton to take on the Bluejays in week six.

YSN’s own, Steve Leslie, had the pleasure of catching up with Coach G this week to discuss how his Tigers squad keeps on winning, what he and his staff have been doing to keep the team’s focus to not overlook anyone as they prepare for the Jays but also the playoffs, and if Coach has any insight on what the playoffs might bring for this Springfield team who is looking to repeat their success from last year and bring home a state championship to New Middletown.

CANFIELD FOOTBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP. 6) WITH MIKE PAVLANSKY

CANFIELD, OH – Coming off another impressive 35-19 victory over the Chaney Cowboys in week five, Coach Mike Pavlansky and the Canfield Cardinals are back in action this Friday night at home against the Boardman Spartans. The Cards will look to keep their five game winning streak alive in the final game of the regular season.

YSN’s own, Steve Leslie, had the opportunity to sit down with Coach Pav this week to discuss his takeaways and thoughts from the Chaney game, what the Cards need to do in week six against Boardman to keep the winning streak alive but also prepare for the playoffs, and any insight Coach might have for us about the playoffs and seeding as voting is this week and seedings will be released sometime on Thursday.

YOUNGSTOWN, OH – Coming off a very tough road contest with Canfield, Coach Chris Amill and the Chaney Cowboys are back to work this week preparing for a Youngstown match up between two historic programs in the city, as the Cowboys will take on the East High Golden Bears in week six.

The legend of YSN, Steve Leslie, was able to discuss this week’s match up with Coach Amill, but also what the ‘Boys need to do in this game to prepare for the playoffs as it will be the last game of the “regular season,” and also what insight Coach might have for us as voting for the playoffs is this week as seedings will be released Thursday most likely!

CANFIELD, OH – Coach Mike Pavlansky and his Canfield Cardinals hit the road in week four for the first time this season as they traveled down to Dover to take on the Crimson Tornadoes. The Cards didn’t skip a beat as they kept their winning streak alive with a 31-10 victory. Up next for Canfield is a home game against the Chaney Cowboys at Bob Dove Field on Friday night.
