NARKUMS CLUTCH HIT PROPELS HUBBARD PAST HOWLAND

Hubbard  took Thursday’s game in dramatic fashion, with  a 10-9 walk-off victory over Howland.  Hubbard was down 9-8 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Grace Narkum doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.

The Eagles built a five-run lead in the third inning and then held off Howland’s charge.  Howland managed eight runs in the failed comeback. A Rodgers, J Sindledecker,  E Darlington, M Jerina, E O’Connell, and M Miller fueled the rally with RBIs.

Hubbard opened up an early lead in the second inning when.

In the top of the sixth inning, Howland tied things up at eight when Miller singled on a 3-0 count, scoring one run.

The Eagles put up four runs in the third inning.  Emily Filicky and Giavanna Hosack each had RBIs in the big inning.

Filicky led the Eagles to victory on the rubber. She went one and two-thirds innings, allowing one run on three hits, striking out two and walking zero.

Miller took the loss for Howland. She lasted six and two-thirds innings, allowing 17 hits and ten runs while striking out three.

 Gillian Ryser started the game for Hubbard. She went five and a third innings, allowing eight runs on nine hits and striking out three

Hubbard had 17 hits in the game.  Jackie Adler, Hosack, Sydney Bowser, Filicky, Narkum, and Ryser each managed multiple hits for Hubbard Lady Eagles Varsity.  Hosack and Adler each collected three hits to lead Hubbard Lady Eagles Varsity.

Howland collected 12 hits on the day.  B Beasom, Darlington, Miller, and O’Connell each collected multiple hits for Howland.  Howland didn’t commit a single error in the field. Darlington had the most chances in the field with six.

LADY RAIDERS BLOW BY HUBBARD

The South Range Raiders defeated Hubbard 11-2 thanks to a strong start.  The Raiders scored on a single by Julie Centofanti and a single by Maddie Helon in the second inning.

The Raiders secured the victory thanks to six runs in the seventh inning.  Brooke Sauerwein, Maddie Helon, Drew Feren, Bree Kohler, and Jillian Strecansky each had RBIs in the frame.

After South Range scored one run in the top of the fourth, Hubbard answered with one of their own.  The Raiders scored when Drew Feren singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.  Hubbard then answered when Gillian Ryser grounded out, scoring one run.

The Raiders pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning.  In the second Julie Centofanti singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run and Maddie Helon singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

South Range Raiders scored six runs in the seventh inning.  South Range Raiders’s big bats in the inning were led by singles by Drew Feren and Jillian Strecansky, a triple by Bree Kohler,  by Maddie Helon, and an error on a ball put in play by Brooke Sauerwein.

Bree Kohler led the South Range Raiders to victory in the pitcher’s circle. She surrendered two runs on five hits over seven innings, striking out five and walking zero.

Jackie Adler took the loss for Hubbard. She surrendered one run on two hits over one-third of an inning, striking out one and walking zero.

 Grace Narkum started the game for Hubbard. She went six and two-thirds innings, allowing ten runs on 16 hits, striking out 11 and walking one

The Raiders tallied 18 hits in the game.  Marlaina Slabach, Julie Centofanti, Jillian Strecansky, Bree Kohler, and Drew Feren each collected multiple hits for South Range Raiders.  Bree Kohler, Jillian Strecansky, Julie Centofanti, and Marlaina Slabach each collected three hits to lead South Range Raiders.

Sydney Bowser led Hubbard with two hits in two at bats.
