HANOVERTON OH- In her four years at United, Grace Knight has not only left an indelible mark but has been a dominant force for the Eagles on the varsity floor. Stepping onto the court as a freshman, she immediately made her presence known, setting the stage for a remarkable high school career.

While she may not be the loudest voice, Grace’s growth in leadership is evident. Her ability to convey what needs to be said, coupled with the confidence that has flourished over the years, has translated into an impressive scoring record—just shy of 1,000 career points. With under 100 points to reach this milestone, it’s nearly certain that she’ll achieve this feat before the season concludes.

Hailing from a competitive household, Grace follows in the footsteps of her brother Grant, a notable name in United’s athletic programs.

Despite the legacy, Grace is carving her own path and aims to conclude her high school career by leading United to a deep tournament run, creating a season that will be etched in the memories of all who witness her formidable skills on the court.

LISBON, OH- United came in tied with Columbiana atop the girl’s standings in the EOAC, and Lisbon had hopes to play spoiler heading into Monday’s contest.  Unfortunately for the Lady Devils, those hopes were dashed early in the game with the relentless attack from the Lady Eagles to the tune of 46-18.

Lisbon kept things tight with some early points, including a big three from Brooklyn Cousins to give the Lady Devils an early lead, but the second-chance opportunities for United were just too much.  The Lady Eagles have 6 players listed as 5’10 or above on their roster- and the made the most of it on Monday night.

One of those players, senior Grace Knight, finished with a game-high 23 points in the victory.  Knight’s jumper was spot on all night, and her teammates kept dishing the rock to her as she had open looks time after time.  Sam Lippiatt finished the game with 8 points on the night, the Eagles were supplemented with Grayson Kidder’s five points, and four-point performances from Katie Dees and Addy Blazer.

For Lisbon, Captain Morgan Lively lit up the scoreboard for 12 points to lead the Lady Devils.  Brooklyn Cousins had a three-pointer, and Amore Ramos had a bucket along with Jayden Smyth’s free throw.

United improves to 9-3 overall, and 7-1 in the conference, while Lisbon falls to 3-9 overall and 2-6 in the EOAC.

After trailing 36-29 going into the final frame, United outscored the Jays 18-9 to win on senior night 47-45.

Freshman Grace Knight led the way for the Eagles scoring 13 points. Madison Kibler, and Mickey Shasteen both had 8.

BROOKFIELD OH- Brookfield Opener the season Monday night with an impressive 53-47 win over United.

United started the game with control. Their slow paced inside focused offense was really controlling a tempo. Freshman Grace Knight scores 5 of her 11 points in the 1st Qtr and helped United close the frame with a 11-7 lead.

However, in the 2nd Qtr, Brookfield would find rythym on offense. Sophia Hook knocked down three 3’s as the Warriors stormed to a 24 point frame and led 31-21 at the break.

United would not be swept away though, they’re zone tightened in on Hook’s jumpsuit and kept her relatively quiet in the third quarter. This helped the Eagles slowly but surely creep back in to the game.

The closest the Eagles would get was three points. Every time they got too close for comfort, Brookfield would come up with a huge shot. United had the ball down just four with about 12 seconds to go in the game and got senior Destiny Hill a good look from the corner. It would not fall though, and two more free throws from Hook would ice the game at 53-47.

Hook led all scorers on the night with 23 points. She 5 three pointers on the night. Audrey Reardon has a solid night as well finishing with 14. Katie Logan was also in double figures with 11.

United was led by Madison Kibler who finished with 15. Knight added 11.
