EAGLES SHOW RESILIENCE IN THRILLING WIN

HANOVERTON OH- It was a clash of two powerhouse teams on Tuesday night as Columbiana traveled down to United to take on the Eagles. It initially looked like it was heading towards a Clipper sweep, but the Eagles stormed back from down 2-0 to win the match in five sets (15-25 16-25 25-21 25-18 16-14).

Tori Tschappatt led the Eagles offense with double digit kills (10). Savannah Burton finished with 10 as well. Haley Dees has a great night of finding her hitters and finished with 34 assists. The Eagles played great defense having two players with 20 plus kills. Brooke Smith had 28 digs and 8 kills. Madison Boyle led the defense with 30 digs.

Tori Long notched another double double with 12 kills and 17 digs. Grace Witmer had a triple double with 13 assists, 13 digs, and 10 kills. Maci Linhart finished with 30 digs.

Columbiana will try to bounce back and travel to Leetonia. United will build off the win as they host East Palestine.

LINHART GETS 1,000 IN CLIPPERS WIN

COLUMBIANA OH- Maci Linhart reaches a career milestone on Monday as she picked up her 1,000th career dig. Her team also picked up a big three set win over Lowellville (25-9 25-14 25-18).

Maddie Witherow led the Clippers in kills with 5, she also finished with 5 digs. Maci Linhart finished the night with 8 digs, and 2 kills. Grace Witmer set up 13 assists. Tori Long had3 kills, 3 aces, and 5 digs.

Columbiana travels to United on Tuesday in a big conference clash.

CLIPPERS GLIDE PAST VALLEY CHRISTIAN

COLUMBIANA OH- Columbiana has no trouble with an early Saturday game as they swept Valley Christian (25-10 25-20 25-15).

Tori Long has another strong outing leading the Clippers offense with a double double with 14 kills, and 10 digs. She also served 4 aces. Maci Linhart didn’t miss a beat and finished her day with 15 digs to lead the defense. Grace Witmer had 19 assists, 6 digs, 3 kills, and an ace. Julia Rapp has a nice day with 8 kills, 5 aces, and 3 digs.

Columbiana moves on to host Lowellville Monday at home.

CLIPPERS GET BACK TO WINNING

COLUMBIANA OH- Columbiana Volleyball bounced back from suffering their first loss of the season on Thursday with a four set victory over Heartland (25-20 25-17 19-25 25-17).

The Clippers had three attackers finish with 6 kills. Tori Long, Grace Witmer, and Julia Rapp all collected 6. Long added 22 digs, 3 aces, and 3 blocks. Maci Linhart led the defense with 24 digs. Witmer finished with 12 assists, and 8 digs.

Columbiana will return to action Saturday as they host Valley Christian. Heartland will have to regroup as they host Malvern on Monday.

CLIPPERS EXTEND WIN STREAK

COLUMBIANA OH- Columbiana Volleyball continued their dominance of their schedule with a sweep of Lisbon (25-7 25-15 25-19).

Tori Long continues to lead the Clippers offense putting up 8 kills tonight, and also grabbing 9 digs. Maci Linhart led the dog category with 14. Grace Witmer had 14 assists, 6 digs, 6 aces, and 4 kills.

Columbiana is now 7-0 and will travel to Wellsville on Tuesday.

CLIPPERS SURVIVE SCARE FROM SOUTHERN

COLUMBIANA OH- Columbiana narrowly escaped their first defeat on Tuesday winning a five set thriller against Southern (25-14 26-28 25-12 11-25 15-7).

Tori Long led the attack once again grabbing a double double with  11 kills, and 22 digs. She also served 2 aces and a block. Maci Linhart also kept plenty of balls in the air accumulating 18 digs. Grace Witmer has 14 assists, 4 kills, and 2 aces.

Columbiana looks to keep winning on Thursday as they host Lisbon.

CLIPPERS KEEP ON WINNING

YOUNGSTOWN OH- The season could not be off to a better start for Columbiana Volleyball. They’re 5-0 after a sweep of Valley Christian (25-17 25-21 25-9).

Tori Long continued her solid season sharing the team lead in kills with 8. Long also had 7 digs. Maddie Witherow also has 8 kills, she served well with 5 aces and added 2 digs. Grace Witmer set nicely with 17 assists. Maci Linhart played good defense picking up double digit digs with 12.

Columbiana will return to action on Tuesday as they travel to Southern.

CLIPPERS PUT PALESTINE IN THE DOG HOUSE

COLUMBIANA OH- Columbiana Volleyball kept their win streak alive on Thursday night with a sweep of East Palestine (25-20 25-22 25-17).

Tori Long has another impressive night for the Clippers with 10 kills, 8 digs and 3 aces. Grace Witmer set up the offense with 12 assists. Maci Linhart played well in the back row gathering 12 digs.

Columbiana is 4-0 on the season and their next match is August 31st at Valley Christian.

CLIPPERS SWEEP AWAY MCDONALD

COLUMBIANA OH- The Clippers opened up the 2020 campaign with a 3-0 sweep of McDonald (25-16 25-23 25-18).

Tori Long led the Clippers with 9 kills, Grace Witmer had 7, and also 3 blocks. Maci led the Clipper defense with 13 digs. Witmer did a great job setting up the Clippers offense, gathering 16 assists.

The Clippers return to the court on Tuesday as they host Leetonia.
