A KNIGHT’S TALE

HANOVERTON OH- Over the years we have seen Grant Knight play a ton of different roles for the United football team. You can dig through his game tape and find him at quarterback, out wide, in the slot, not to mention what he’s been able to on the defensive side of the ball. He has meant the world to the Eagles, and now in his senior season, he has the chance to reward his efforts with some school records.  That is definitely on his goals list, but Grant has never been one to put personal accolades over team success. With Luke Courtney throwing to him, the Eagles offense has looked calm cool and collected. The Eagles are striving to win their first playoff game in program history. Grant Knight will be a huge part in that story.

Grant was able to hop on YSN’s Running Point this week to talk to us about his senior season. He chats with Anthony Hartwig, and Richie Juliano about his senior season, his goals for the team, and much more. Keep flying with the Eagles all season, and check out the latest United Football Player Profile only on YSN.

INDIANS SPOIL THE UNITED PARTY

SALINEVILLE OH- It was all set up on Friday for United to have a chance to compete for an EOAC title in Week 6 against Leetonia, but Southern made them pump the breaks, as they jumped ahead early and never let go. The Indians ended United’s undefeated hopes with a 34-21 win in Week 5.

It was the ground game for the Indians doing most of the damage. They ran for 305 yards on 44 carries. Brad Sloan had 180 yards on 12 carries for Southern. Josh Pratt was efficient through the air when they needed him. He went 5-9 with 79 yards and a TD.

Brutus Ogilvie went 24-38 with 266 yards 1 TD and 3 INT. Grant Knight caught 9 balls for 183 yards.

United will move on to try to finish strong in Week 6 as they play Leetonia. Southern now can cause a tie for the EOAC title if they win against Valley Christian in Youngstown.
