CORTLAND OH- Lakeview has seen an era of prosperity inside their volleyball program in the recent past. They’ve been one of the more dominant programs in the area for years.  Last season was one of their best as they were led by a great senior class that was part of 3 league championships.  Those seniors have now graduated and all eyes are on what’s next for the Bulldogs.  If you ask head coach Heather Guthrie however, there is no cause for alarm. It’s true that there may be a new look to the Bulldogs this season, but that doesn’t mean they won’t be successful.  They bring hungry young talent that are anxious to prove that Lakeview has a lasting program.

Coach Guthrie was kind enough to take the time to sit down with YSN’s Anthony Hartwig to give us a in depth preview of the upcoming season.  They talk about the legacy of leadership last year’s seniors left, what the strengths of this team will be now, and much more. CORTLAND OH- Lakeview has been firmly spotted on the top spot of the volleyball power rankings since the beginning of the season. They are on a tear with an undefeated record at the moment, and have only lost two sets all season. As the season winds down, the Bulldogs have a game 2 game lead on second place Girard in the NE8. However, the Indians are no pushover. Lakeview is eyeing a second matchup with Girard who is next on the slate. It is sure to be a rumble in the doghouse on Thursday night.

Head coach Heather Guthrie took the time to hop on to YSN’s Running Point to give us some of the key reasons for Lakeview’s success this season.  She talks with Richie Juliano, and Anthony Hartwig about her team’s individual performances, a preview of the Girard matchup, and much more. Hubbard, OH- The Lakeview Bulldogs dominated in NE8 play at Hubbard on Thursday night. The Bulldogs stayed unbeaten at 10-0 after beating the Eagles by double digits in all 3 sets for a clean sweep.

Lakeview was led by Tara Lytle who had 17 kills, but give credit to her setter Maggie Pavlansky who collected 21 assists throughout the match. The Bulldogs put on a serving clinic, with Reagan Price and Mallory Mailach each having 11 serving points. Lytle played well on both sides, dominating the net with 3 blocks and a multitude of touches at the net to get the Bulldogs in rythm.

Lakeview is undefeated and will travel to Canfield on Monday night to take on the Cardinals. Hubbard will travel to take on the West Branch Warriors and the Mineral Ridge Rams in a tri-match hosted by West Branch at noon on Saturday. You can catch all 3 of the upcoming matches on YSN.

CORTLAND OH- For the first time since the start of the NE8, Lakeview volleyball will come into the season chasing a reigning champion.  This has been the Bulldogs conference for years, and now they’ll be chasing Girard who knocked them off last season. Head coach Heather Guthrie is taking advantage of the hunger being the underdog can bring. Returning almost their entire roster, don’t sleep on Lakeview to regain their dominance this year.  They open the season August 20th at Cardinal Mooney.

CORTLAND OH- Lakeview has been one of the most dominant volleyball programs in the area over the last three seasons, especially in the NE8. The Bulldogs have won all three of the NE* championships that have been given out since the start of the conference, and in that time span they have only lost one conference game. To make things even more alarming for the rest of the league is that Lakeview is a fairly young team. Returning al but 2 players, and adding an impressive freshman class the Bulldogs are set up to continue their dominance inside the NE8.
