LABRAE SPOILS REBELS SENIOR NIGHT

COLUMBIANA OH- The Crestview Boys welcomes in Labrae On senior night Tuesday night but couldn’t muster up enough momentum to beat the Vikings. Labrae won 64-47. It was still a night where the Rebels got to recognize their seniors for the years of service to the program.

Three players for Crestview finished the game in double figures with 10 points. Jack Yerkey, Drake Golden, and Brandon Yanssens.

Crestview return to action on the road Tuesday as they travel to Leetonia.

CHANEY STAYS HOT AGAINST CARDINALS

YOUNGSTOWN- The Chaney Cowboys took care of business Tuesday night against Mooney with a 68-44 win.

Mooney tried their best to slow the fast paced Cowboys down but Chaney has adapted to that game plan and quickly made adjustments.
Chaney took a 25-18 lead into the locker room, and only elevated from there. The third frame was the turning point as the Cowboys started to force turnovers and speed up the game. They outscored the Cardinals 29-14 in the quarter to take a commanding lead.

Travis Easterly led the Cowboys with 15.

Chaney closes out the regular season as they travel to Boardman on Friday night.

INDIANS HOLD OFF SOUTH RANGE IN CLOSE VICTORY

GIRARD OH- Girard narrowly escaped with a 42-40 victory over South Range on Tuesday night. The Indians used a strong second and third quarter to push ahead. They outscored the Raiders 31-23 in those two quarters.

Christian Graziano, and Lorenzo Frigerio both led the Indians with 15 a piece.

Nate Brown and Chris Brooks both had 10 to pace the Raiders.

South Range looks to rebound Friday when they host Jefferson.

Girard looks to keep winning as they travel to Lakeview on Friday.

STRUTHERS REMAINS ATOP NE8 WITH WIN OVER DRAGONS

STRUTHERS- The Wildcats knew the league lead was in front of them as they dominated Niles 59-39 on Tuesday night. The win keeps the Cats secure on top of the league.

Leading the way offensively for Struthers was Brandon Washington who has 19 points. Carson Ryan was also in double figures with 16 and Aidan Slocum added 14.

POTTERS POUND MARTINS FERRY, ADVANCE TO OVAC TITLE

EAST LIVERPOOL- The East Liverpool Potters advances to the OVAC Championship game with a dominating 80-41 win over Martins Ferry on Tuesday night.

The Potters were helped by a tremendous effort from Tresean Jackson who scored 31 points. Jackson’s contributions didn’t end there as he did a masterful job distributing the ball finishing with 8 assists on the night. Brennan O’Hara was also in double figures with 15 points.

The Potters defense was nothing to forget either. They held the Raiders to just 11 first half points with suffocating pressure.

The Potters now look to avenge an earlier loss to Meadowbrook in the OVAC championship on Friday night.

FALCONS GET IT DONE VS EAST

AUSTINTOWN OH- The Falcons defeated Youngstown East in a high scoring affair on Saturday 72-66. The Falcons held a 6 point lead at the half and a 4 point lead after 3 quarters. The 4th quarter saw the Falcons and East exchange baskets throughout with the Falcons hitting some timely free-throws down the stretch.

Leading the way for the Falcons was Todd Simons with 22 points, Devin Chaney with 17, Kris Brown with 15, and Devin Sherwood and Nate Leskovac with 8 pts. The Falcons travel to Hudson on Tuesday to take on the Explorers. The game time for that game is 6:00 J.V. 7:30 Varsity.

COWBOYS TRIPPED UP IN OT BY SPIRE

GENEVA OH- The Chaney Cowboys made the long trip to Geneva Tuesday night for a big match up with the SPIRE institute. Chaney used a big defensive second quarter, holding SPIRE to two points and leading 22-19 at the half. SPIRE would eventually come back and beat the Cowboys in an overtime thriller 61-54.

Cameron Lawrence and Travis Easterly both led the Cowboys offensively with 13 points each.

The Cowboys return to action Friday as they host Cardinal Mooney.

BIG SECOND HALF LIFTS FALCONS OVER HUBBARD

HUBBARD OH- The Jefferson Falcons went to Hubbard and scored 41 points in the second half to propel them to a 64-49 win over Hubbard.

Bobby Ray led the Falcons withva game-High 22 points.

Ryan Laird led the Eagles with 15 points, Cam Resatar was also in double figures and added 13 points.

Hubbard falls to 4-12 on the year. They will look to bounce back Friday as they host Lakeview.

Jefferson will host Poland on Friday.

CLIPPERS ON TOP OF EOAC WITH WIN OVER SOUTHERN

SALINEVILLE OH- Columbiana took sole possession of the top spot in the EOAC with a 55-46 win over Southern Local Tuesday night. After trailing at half time, the Clippers outscored the 34-17 in the second half to fly high to the victory. Columbiana now improves to 10-1 in the EOAC.

The Clippers were led by Hunter Zetner with 16. Sean Whitehead was also in double figures with 13, while Matt Mazei finished with 12. Dalton Whitehair contributed 11.

Columbiana returns to action Friday when they travel to Lisbon.

COWBOYS CORRAL IRISH

YOUNGSTOWN OH- Chaney got a big win over Youngstown rival Ursuline Tuesday night 63-55.

The win keeps the Cowboys unbeaten in Steel Valley play.

Travis Easterly led the Cowboys with a game-High 19 points. Quincy Jones was also in double figures for Chaney with 17.

Brady Shannon led Ursuline with 17. Vince Armeni and Daysean Harris were also in double figures with 13 for Armeni and 11 for Harris.

Chaney will have a week off before they travel to the Spire Institute next Tuesday.

Ursuline travels to Mooney Friday night.
