YA KNOW ITS YANNUCCI

WARREN OH- Junior, Ava Yannucci of Howland has had a start to her career most could only dream of. Winning All District as a sophomore and countless other awards. Ava’s been the teams leading scorer this year and has been heavily depended on early in her career for a very good soccer school, It can be overwhelming for all that pressure to be on you as an athlete, but ava has been more then up for that challenge. Leading her team to a share of the conference last year as a sophomore she showed great humility when I asked about why she’s been able to be so dominant. Yannucci states a huge part of her success has been her team and the coaches who put her in that situation to succeed.

Howlands team this year is off to a great start being 8-2-2 in a really tough league. Big games coming up for them is GlenOak on 9/23 and Canfield on 10/2, Yannucci states “We have four tough conference opponents left to play, we’ve played all four teams already once this year, it’s going to come down to us staying focused and playing our game”. Howland is looking to win the conference for a second year in a row, the Tigers definitely have the talent to do so and we’ll be watching them closely as the season goes on.

WEST BRANCH PREVAILS IN THE BATTLE OF THE WARRIORS

The varsity girls soccer team continued its push for an EBC title with a 8-0 victory at Carrollton tonight.  The team is now 9-2-2 on the season and 4-0 in the EBC, setting up a matchup with Salem next Wednesday for the EBC title.

Sam Koneval and Sophia Gregory were big scorers tonight as each connected on hat tricks (3 goals).  Cambrie Nezbeth and Allie Brammer rounded out the scoring for West Branch with a goal apiece.

Kennedy Berger and Chloe Dennison each had three assists tonight.  Caidee Schroeder also picked up an assist for West Branch.

In goal Zoe Sanders and Audrey Eaton shared the shutout.

The Warriors and Quakers will face off in Beloit on Wednesday, October 4th.  JV’s will kickoff at 5 with the varsity at 6:15.

CANFIELD SENIORS SHINE IN BLOWOUT WIN

In a heartwarming celebration of their seniors, the Canfield girls’ soccer team delivered a spectacular performance on the field, securing a dominating 7-0 win over Warren Harding. The night was filled with moments of brilliance, as Canfield’s seniors and their teammates showcased their skill and teamwork.

Canfield’s offensive prowess was on full display, with an impressive tally of seven goals. Maci Toporcer led the charge with an astounding four goals, highlighting her scoring ability and clinical finishing. Hanna Wahib wasn’t far behind, contributing two goals to the team’s victory. Rachel Lamb added another goal to the mix.

The goals were the result of exceptional teamwork, with assists playing a crucial role. Vivian Nohra and Carlyn McCormick each provided two assists, showcasing their playmaking abilities. Elise Kovach also contributed with an assist, emphasizing the all-around team effort.

Canfield’s defense, anchored by goalkeeper Lolo Padgett, was rock-solid throughout the match. Padgett made a crucial save to preserve the clean sheet, while the defense limited Harding’s opportunities.

Warren Harding’s goalkeeper, Erica Brooks, demonstrated resilience with eight saves, despite facing relentless pressure from Canfield’s offense.

Canfield’s dominance extended beyond the scoreline, as they outshot Harding by a staggering margin of 22 to 2. Their ability to control possession and create scoring opportunities was evident throughout the match.

CANFIELD CARRIES ANOTHER BIG WIN

CANFIELD OH- In a thrilling boys’ soccer matchup, Canfield demonstrated their prowess on the field as they triumphed over Ursuline with a commanding 4-1 victory. The Canfield squad showcased exceptional teamwork and individual talent, leaving their fans cheering for more.

Canfield’s offensive power was on full display, with Drew Snyder leading the charge. Snyder, a force to be reckoned with, scored not one, but two incredible goals that left the Ursuline defense stunned. His precise finishing and agility were on full display as he found the back of the net twice.

Adding to Canfield’s impressive goal tally, Andrew Battaglia and Ryan Dangol each contributed a goal to secure the victory. Battaglia’s goal showcased his striking accuracy, while Dangol’s finish demonstrated his poise under pressure.

The assists were equally instrumental in Canfield’s victory. Ethan Mulichak and Drew Snyder combined seamlessly to set up their teammates, showcasing their exceptional playmaking abilities.

SACHIN FINDS THE BALANCE

CANFIEKD OH- Sachin Nallapaneni is not your typical high school student. He’s a senior at Canfield High School who’s juggling a remarkable combination of activities and responsibilities, all while maintaining a genuine enthusiasm for his high school experience. This young man’s ability to balance it all is nothing short of impressive.

During the fall season, Sachin takes on not one, but two varsity sports—soccer and golf. Managing the demands of both sports requires dedication, discipline, and a strong work ethic. He’s not just participating; he’s excelling, contributing to both teams’ exceptional seasons. It’s a testament to his commitment to excellence.

Beyond sports, Sachin tackles a challenging academic workload, including the study of Spanish. His aspiration to become fluent in the language showcases his dedication to broadening his horizons and enhancing his communication skills. Sachin recognizes the value of effective communication in any future career path, and he’s taking proactive steps to prepare himself for success.

CARDINALS WIN CLASH OF TITANS AND GIVE SIMONE WIN NUMBER 400

CANFIELD OH- In a thrilling matchup, the Canfield girls’ soccer team continued their remarkable season, improving to an impressive 11-0-1 record with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over West Branch. This clash showcased the determination and skill of both teams as they battled it out on the field.

Canfield’s offensive firepower came through once again, with goals credited to standout players Maci Toporcer and Hanna Wahib. Gianna Marino played a pivotal role in the victory, contributing an important assist that helped secure the win.

West Branch didn’t go down without a fight, as Sophia Gregory found the back of the net for their sole goal, beautifully assisted by Chloe Dennison.

The goalkeepers were kept busy throughout the match, with Canfield’s Lolo Padgett making two crucial saves, while West Branch’s Zoe Sanders demonstrated her skills with four saves.

MULICHAK MASTERS THE FIELD

CANFIELD OH- As Canfield enjoys one of its most remarkable boys’ soccer seasons in recent memory, senior Ethan Mulichak has emerged as a driving force behind their success. His consistent offensive prowess has consistently applied pressure to opposing teams, placing the Cardinals in favorable positions throughout the season.

Currently boasting an impressive 6-1-3 record, with their only loss occurring in the second game of the season against Poland, Canfield’s dominance on the field shines through. They’ve outscored their opponents 38-10, a testament to the impact Mulichak has had on the team’s offensive output.

Ethan’s leadership extends beyond the field, where he is instrumental in fostering team chemistry and cultivating an unbreakable bond among the Cardinals. This commitment to unity plays a pivotal role in the team’s cohesiveness and success.

Maci Toporcer was the star of the match, contributing a remarkable hat-trick to the scoreboard, while Hanna Wahib added to the tally.
