BEAVERS TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE SUNSHINE
Beaver Local lit up the scoreboard Monday, hammering Indian Creek 12-3 behind a seven-run explosion in the fifth inning.
The turning point came fast and furious—RBI singles, a fielder’s choice that brought one home, a clutch triple that cleared two more, and a groundout that capped off the rally. Just like that, Beaver put the game out of reach.
Indian Creek struck first with a solo shot to right in the second, but Beaver answered right back. A sac fly and a base knock to the right side pushed two across in the bottom half to give the Beavers the lead.
Indian Creek briefly tied it up in the third on a bases-loaded walk, but Beaver Local wasted no time getting back on top. A pair of RBI singles in the bottom half of the frame made it 4-2 and shifted momentum for good.
In the circle, Beaver split the work. The starter punched out six and gave up just one hit through three, while the bullpen came in and fanned eight over four strong innings of relief. Between the two, only three hits were allowed all game.
Offensively, Beaver racked up 13 knocks. The eight-hole hitter led the RBI charge with three. Multiple players notched two hits, and several swiped multiple bags as the Beavers ran wild with eight steals in the game.
Indian Creek showed solid plate discipline, drawing nine walks, and they were clean defensively, not committing an error. But once that fifth inning snowballed, there was no stopping Beaver Local. Beaver’s back on home dirt Tuesday as they welcome Toronto for the next one.
