Southern picked up a big-time conference win Friday night, outlasting Wellsville 63-56 in a fast-paced battle. The Indians held their ground in a game full of momentum swings and clutch plays.

Braxton Sloan led the way for Southern, torching the net for 25 points. Landen Heffner and Jacob McCurdy each dropped 15, combining for a balanced attack that kept Wellsville on their heels.

For the Tigers, Darnell Roe put up a strong 20-point performance, while Tyrell Watkins and Austin Adkins added 12 apiece to keep Wellsville in the hunt. Despite their efforts, Southern had just enough firepower to hold them off.

Southern hits the road Tuesday to stay in conference action at United. Wellsville will look to bounce back as they host Columbiana the same night.
