RAIDERS CONTINUE TO ROLL IN CONFERENCE PLAY
CANFIELD, OH- The South Range Raiders put on a show Friday night, cruising to a 70-49 victory over the Lakeview Bulldogs to strengthen their standing in the Northeast 8 conference. Behind a balanced offensive attack and suffocating defense, the Raiders controlled the game from start to finish, keeping the Bulldogs at bay.
South Range wasted no time setting the tone, jumping out to a double-digit lead in the first half and never looking back. Gaven Nagy was on fire for the Raiders, dropping a game-high 21 points while hitting shots from all over the court. Graham Heikkinen added 17 points, with Michael Garwnacki chipping in 13 points to provide additional firepower. Jack Carey, Tristan Toy, and Jimmy Powell each contributed 6 points, while Nate Lewis rounded out the scoring with 2 points.
For Lakeview, Carter Doran and Isaiah Lantz led the Bulldogs with 20, and 11 points, respectively, while Trace Goyzooda added 10 points in a solid effort. Leo Parise scored 5 points, and Preston Littleton and Jaden Warner each added 3 points. Nick Sull provided 3 points off the bench, while Brandon Steele and Jesse Hospodor each added 2 points to the Bulldogs’ tally.
The Raiders improved their conference record to 3-0, and 3-1 overall with the win and look to keep the momentum rolling into their next game. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs will look to regroup and bounce back as they continue their season. Lakeview will drop to 3-4 overall and will travel down the road to Maplewood next Friday.
