ASTROS SWING THEIR WAY TO THE FINALS

STRUTHERS OH- The Astro Falcons opened the flood gates in Game 2 of their semifinal against Dura Edge. They clinched a trip to the 18U Championship against Creekside with a 15-4 win.

The Falcons has a spread out offense on the day. JJ Wetherholt has a nice day going 2-4 with 2 runs scored, a walk, and 2 RBI. Connor Miller was perfect at the plate. He went 2-2 with 2 runs scored, 2 walks, and 2 RBI. Jon McColloigh went 1-3 with a run scored, a walk, and 2 RBI.

Braden Gebhardt ends a productive summer with a nice day at the plate. He went 1-3 with 2 of his team’s 4 RBI. Jake Bowen went 1-2 with a run scored, a walk, and a RBI.

Matt Sheppard was able to secure the victory on the mound for the Falcons. He went 3 innings giving up 2 earned runs on 3 hits and striking out 3.

FALCONS NOT MESSING AROUND IN GAME 1

STRUTHERS OH- It was all business for the Astro Falcons in Game 1 of their semifinals matchup with Dura Edge. The Falcons scored ten runs in two innings between the 2nd and the 3rd to cruise to a 12-1 win.

Don Pieto went 1-2 with 2 runs scored and 3 RBI for the Falcons. JJ Wetherholt went 2-3 with a triple, 2 runs scored, and a RBI. John Mcullough went 1-1 with 2 RBI. Lucas Gulcznski went 2-3 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI.

Vince Armeni had a good day for Dura Edge going 2-2 with the team’s only RBI. Jake Bowen went 1-2 with a run scored. The final Dura Edge hit was collected by Braden Gebhardt who went 1-2.

Andrew Russell got the victory on the rubber for the Falcons. He went 5 innings giving up 1 run on 4 hits and he struck out 9.

DURA EDGE BLASTS THEIR WAY TO THE NEXT ROUND

STRUTHERS OH- Dura Edge used 12 runs to eliminate Eagle Wear and move on to the next round of the playoffs. They won 12-9 in a back and forth affair. They scored their 12 runs on 10 hits and gave up 9 runs on 8 hits.

Ethan Hanley was essential in Dura’s win going 2-4 with 3 RBI. Andrew Marcello went 2-3 with a walk and 2 RBI. Evan Pirtz went 1-4 with a run scored and 2 RBI.

For Eagle Wear Zach Lordo went 2-4 with a run scored and 2 RBI. Donny Shimko went 1-3 with a run scored, a walk, and 2 RBI. Walter Sweeney went 3-4 with 2 runs scored and a RBI.

Jake Bowen took the bulk of the work for Dura Edge. He went 3 innings and gave up 2 earned runs on 1 hit. He struck out 3.

DURA EDGE SCRAPES BY EAGLE WEAR

STRUTHERS OH- It was a close on, but Dura Edge did just enough to get a 6-5 Game 1 victory over Eagle Wear on Wednesday. Their offense had a big 5th inning, scoring four runs. Their pitchers did the rest keeping Eagle Wear quiet the rest of the game.

Jake Bowen led the bats for Dura Edge. He went 2-3 with a run scored and 2 RBI. Anthony Marcello was also very productive going 2-3 with 2 RBI. Zack Leonard went 2-4 with a run scored.

For Eagle Wear, Ricky Enlow did the most damage. He went 1-4 with 2 RBI. Teddy Ruffner had a perfect night at the plate, going 2-2 with 2 walks and a RBI.

Braden Gebhardt was awarded the victory on the hill for Dura Edge. He went 5 innings giving up 1 earned run on 5 hits. He struck out 7.

 

DURA EDGE SLICES THROUGH AVALANCHE

STRUTHERS OH- Dura Edge ran away with the game on Saturdayas they cruised to a 12-5 win over Avalanche. Dura Edge scores 12 runs on 10 hits while Avalanche scored 5 runs on 4 hits.

Jake Bowen led the offensive onslaught for Dura Edge as he went 3-4 with 2 runs scored, a walk, and 2 RBI. Brock Janeda went 1-3 with 2 RBI. Joey Perfette went 1-4 with 2 runs scored, a walk, and 2 RBI.

Ty Tamburro had a multiple hit night for Avalanche. He went 2-3 with 2 RBI. Albert Gerlick went 1-3 with a RBI.

Bowen also got the victory on the rubber for Dura Edge. He pitched 5 and 1/3 innings giving up 1 earned run on 2 hits. He struck out 5.

DURA EDGE LEAVE PROSPECTS SHIPWRECKED

STRUTHERS OH- Dura Edge scores all six of their runs in the 3rd and 4th innings in their Monday night win over Prospects 6-3. The Prospects trailed 6-1 and were able to manage two runs in the 7th to close the gap a bit, but that’s all Dura Edge pitching would give up.

Jake Bowen led Dura Edge’s offensive attack going 2-4 with 2 RBI. Braden Gebhardt went 1-2 with 2 RBI. Zack Leonard went 2-4 with 2 runs scored and a RBI.

On the Prospects side of things, Tito Multari went 1-1 with a RBI. Sean Helpy managed to go 1-3 with a run scored and a RBI.

Will Shaffer got the win on the mound for Dura Edge. He went 6 innings giving up 1 run on 6 hits. He struck out 6.

KNIGHTLINE DISMANTLES DURA EDGE

STRUTHERS OH- Knightline got off to a fast start on Tuesday against Dura Edge. They scored four runs in the 1st inning. Dura Edge slowly cut it to 4-3 before Knightline dropped another four runs in the 5th. They’d go on to win 10-3.

For Knightline, Nate Jacobs went 2-4 with 3 RBI. Gabe Faunda went 2-3 with a walk and 3 runs scored. He also added 2 RBI.

Jake Bowen went 2-3 for Dura Edge with 2 RBI. Vince Armeni went 1-2 with a walk and a run scored. He also collected a RBI.

Brett Bobin got the win toeing the rubber for Knightline. He went 5 innings and gave up 3 runs on 8 hits. He struck out 6.

EAGLE WEAR AND DURA EDGE FINISH TIED

STRUTHERS OH- Dura Edge and Eagle Wear finishes their game on Sunday tied at 2-2. Eagle Wear held a 2-0 lead early in the game score two runs in the 1st inning. Dura Edge ties the game with a run in the 4th, and 5th innings.

For Dura Edge, Jake Bowen went 2-3 with a run scored and the team’s lone RBI. Braden Gebhardt went 1-2 with a walk.

Walter Sweeney went 2-3 for Eagle Wear with 2 RBI. Donny Shimko went 1-4 with a run scored. Ricky Enlow went 1-3 with a walk and a run scored.

Zach Lordo pitches well for Eagle Wear. He went 4 innings giving up 1 earned run on 3 hits and struck out 3.

Garrett Donaldson got the start for Dura Edge. He went 3 innings giving up 2 runs on 5 hits and struck out 6.

LATE BURST PROPELS DURA EDGE PAST AVALANCHE

STRUTHERS OH- Avalanche had a 3-1 lead for the first half of their game against Dura Edge on Thursday night. But Dura Edge scores four in the 6th and two in the 7th to walk away with a 7-3 victory.

Brock Janeda went 1-3 for Dura Edge with a walk and 2 RBI. Vince Armeni went 2-4 with a RBI and a run scored.

For Avalanche, Aaron Elsworth went 1-1 with a walk and a RBI. John King went 3-3 with a run scored.

Jake Bowen got the win on the mound for Dura Edge, he went 2 innings and gave up 0 runs on 1 hit. He struck out 3.

Tyler Cummings pitches well in a losing effort for Avalanche. He went 6 innings and gave up just 1 earned run on 8 hits. He struck out a pair.

WHITING ROLL-OFFS OVERPOWER DURA EDGE

STRUTHERS OH- Dura Edge took an early 2-1 lead Thursday night against Whiting Roll-Offs, but the good times would not last. The Roll-Offs scored 7 runs in 3 innings to secure a big 8-2 win. Their pitchers threw four scoreless innings after surrendering two runs in the 1st.

Tyler Kamerer led the offense for the Roll-Offs going  a perfect 2-2 at the plate. He also had a walk and a RBI. Ethan Bintrum went 1-3 with 2 RBI.

William Shaffer went 1-3 for Dura Edge with 2 RBI. Zack Leonard, and Jake Bowen both had impressive nights going 2-3.

Gavin Wooley got the win for Whiting Roll-Offs going 4 innings giving up 2 runs on 5 hits. He struck out 4.
