DON’T SLEEP ON DAVIS

SALEM OH- From an outside perspective it may seem like Salem volleyball was heading into a rebuilding season for 2020. They lost a handful of important seniors, and they welcomed a new head coach. That usually doesn’t equate to a very successful season, but in Salem they are built different. Senior Kaley Davis was not having any discussion about rebuilding. Her leadership and senior experience pulled Salem through the tough times of the season.

Kaley knew coming in to this summer that a tall task stood in front of her and her fellow seniors. They had to lead a young group of players while buying in to a new coach’s philosophy. New head coach Kacey Costal did a good job not micro managing her new team. Davis says it helped a lot that Costal would take a step back and let the team meet their expectations. Salem closed the regular season by sweeping rival West Branch, who they had lost to earlier in the season to really show the team the fruits of their labor. Davis says that was a huge step for their program.

Kaley took the time to sit and talk with YSN’s own Anthony Hartwig to discuss her senior season. They talk about the mentality of the season, being under a new coaching staff, and much more. Don’t lead volleyball season end without hearing this exclusive interview with one of Salem’s shining stars. “Don’t Sleep On Davis” is live!
