JAYS ADJUST TO SWEEP WATERLOO

NORTH JACKSON OH- The Blue Jays saw themselves struggle with Waterloo just a week ago. Last Monday the two teams battled in a five set thriller that the Blue Jays barely pulled out. What a difference a week makes. They dominated the Vikings on Monday night in a sweep (25-11 25-11 25-16).

It was all about the middle blockers in set one as Logan Grunder set the tone. She was responsible for 5 of the Blue Jays first 7 points. Her counterpart Kara Costello also has a great first set in the front row.

As the match went on, the outsides of the Jays got more involved Kelsie Taylor came on strong in the second set to help the Blue Jays Dominate.

Jackson Milton did have to battle a shaky start to set three. They found themselves down 10-8, but then the rattled off 6 points in a row to take control of the set.

Grunder led the Jays in kills, getting into double digits with 10. She also was great with her defense collecting 6 blocks.  Taylor managed to grab 8 kills after not recording one in the first set. Paige Grope did a great job setting as she tallied 20 assists. Kailee Davis led the back row with 8 digs.

Kyleigh Eddy was impressive for Waterloo. She did a little bit of everything for the Vikings whether that be setting, hitting from the outside, or attacking out of the middle. She finished with 5 kills.
