BLUE JAYS BOUNCE BACK AGAINST LOWELLVILLE

LOWELLVILLE OH- Both teams already met each other once this season and it was time again for round number two as the Lowellville Rockets were looking for their first win against the Jackson Milton Blue Jays since 2011.  It looked like that would happen during the first half as the Blue Jays with foul trouble had the Lady Rockets comeback.  The Rockets were only down 23-17 at halftime However, the second half would be different as the Rocket didn’t take off and the Blue Jays pulled away, from buzzer beaters to steals, they continued their winning streak against Lowellville by the final of 64-39.  

 

For Jackson Milton, it was Kylie Wilson who finished with a team high 19 points, while Ava Darney, Camryn Mitchell and Chelsea Williams each had 14 points.  Logan Grunder finished with three points.  

 

For Lowellville, Samantha Moore finished with 15 points, Savannah Procick finished with 14 points, making five two points and one three.  Francesca Lellio finished with four points and Lily Van Coppola finished with six points while she also made all free throws. 

 

Up Next: 

 

Lowellville (2-2) will head to Wellsville (0-2) on Monday.  Jackson Milton (3-1) will face United (3-4).

BLUE JAYS LOOK SHARP IN SWEEP OF SEBRING

NORTH JACKSON OH- In their first meeting it took Jackson Milton 5 sets to beat Sebring. This time around it was a lot quicker, as the Jays dispatched the Trojans in straight sets (25-13 25-16 25-12).

Dana Saunders led the Blue Jays with 8 kills. Logan Grunder also put up a solid performance with 7 kills and an ace. Grunder served 20 points. Paige Grope set up 30 assists for the Jays while serving 2 aces. She served for 17 points on the night

For Sebring, Blake Thomas, and Delaney Reggi both led with 5 kills a piece. Emma Whaley played exceptional defense for the Trojans with 30 digs. Mallory Harshman finished with 8 assists.

Jackson Milton gets back on the court quick as they travel to Lowellville on Tuesday. Sebring will look to bounce back as they host McDonald on Tuesday.

JAYS ADJUST TO SWEEP WATERLOO

NORTH JACKSON OH- The Blue Jays saw themselves struggle with Waterloo just a week ago. Last Monday the two teams battled in a five set thriller that the Blue Jays barely pulled out. What a difference a week makes. They dominated the Vikings on Monday night in a sweep (25-11 25-11 25-16).

It was all about the middle blockers in set one as Logan Grunder set the tone. She was responsible for 5 of the Blue Jays first 7 points. Her counterpart Kara Costello also has a great first set in the front row.

As the match went on, the outsides of the Jays got more involved Kelsie Taylor came on strong in the second set to help the Blue Jays Dominate.

Jackson Milton did have to battle a shaky start to set three. They found themselves down 10-8, but then the rattled off 6 points in a row to take control of the set.

Grunder led the Jays in kills, getting into double digits with 10. She also was great with her defense collecting 6 blocks.  Taylor managed to grab 8 kills after not recording one in the first set. Paige Grope did a great job setting as she tallied 20 assists. Kailee Davis led the back row with 8 digs.

Kyleigh Eddy was impressive for Waterloo. She did a little bit of everything for the Vikings whether that be setting, hitting from the outside, or attacking out of the middle. She finished with 5 kills.

Jackson Milton has a tough test ahead as they host Mineral Ridge on Tuesday. Waterloo will continue to look for their first win of the season as they travel to Sebring.

RIDGE CONTINUES TO LOOK IMPRESSIVE

JACKSON MILTON OH- The lady rams improved to a record of 2-0 on the season and 1-0 in the conference with the victory tonight. The rams were led by Katelyn Lesko with 13 kills and 9 digs, Danielle Aulet with 11 digs and 26 assists and Morgan Sigley with 8 digs. Jackson Milton now 1-1 for the season were led by Logan Grunder with 14 kills and 6 blocks, Kylie Wilson with 8 digs and Paige Grope with 7 assists.

The Rams look to keep it going on Saturday as they travel to Heartland Christian

ROAD WARRIORS: BLUE JAYS FLY HIGH IN CANTON

CANTON OH-Jackson Milton Volleyball got the season started with an impressive 3 set victory on the road over East Canton (25-19 25-17 25-7).

Paige Grope led the team with 10 points and 4 aces. Logan Grunder had a slow start but got it going in the second game with 10 kills and 2 blocks on the night. Kara Costello added 7 kills and 1 block to help the Lady Jays. Camryn Mitchell and Kailee Davis both had a great game defensively tonight to help their teammates. Emily Fultz had 10 assists tonight. The Lady Jays will face Mineral Ridge tomorrow at home.
