IF YA SMELL WHAT TOROK IS COOKIN!

CANFIELD, OH – When talking to Coach Pavlansky and the rest of the Canfield community, the resounding answer to what makes this team so great, is senior leadership and the drive to never have the final game come. With that being said, this senior class has led the Cardinals to a perfect record so far and a match up with Streetsboro in the regional semi-finals this Friday night.

One of the leaders of this senior class is Logan Torok, the 6’3″ wideout. His size alone is enough to strike fear in opposing cornerbacks eyes but his athleticism and speed make him a match up nightmare. Logan has not only been able to dominate on offense but he is also able to be a vocal leader in the locker room, from the sidelines, and in the community. He has a unique ability to unite everyone on the team to get ready for a game and is always one of the most energized players on the field when his teammates make a big play!

YSN’s own, Steve Leslie, was able to sit down with Logan this week via video chat to discuss his senior year so far, what it has been like to grow up as a Cardinal, what his plans are for after high school, a rapid fire question session to learn about some of that things that make Logan who he is, and much more!

CARDINALS RUN PAST HOWLAND

CANFIELD OH- The Canfield Cardinals caged the Howland Tigers with a victory in Week 1. After a slow start in the first quarter, Logan Torok got the ball rolling for the Cardinals with a 58 yard touchdown reception to take a 7-0 lead. Later in the second half, senior quarterback Ethan Fletcher added another big play with a 59 yard touchdown run to increase the Canfield lead.

The Howland Tigers offense struggled in week one, not putting up any points in the contest. Canfield Linebacker Chris Sammarone was all over the field, leading the Cardinals in tackles.

Canfield would win by a final score of 23-0, and will host Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin next week. Howland will host Chaney in week 2.
