PLAYING ON THE BOUNDARIES

CANFIELD OH- If you want a story of redemption and turnaround, you should look no further than South Range basketball. A lot of people on the outside had the team dead in the water just five games in to the season. The winless Raiders were nobody’s choice to win the conference, or get in to districts.  But since when do the Raiders care what people think? They did win the conference, and they did make it to districts.  Along the way they have developed one of the deadliest perimeter threats in the whole area in sophomore Luke Rohan.

Rohan has taken the NE8 by force.  He now has the attention of every defense that scouts against the Raiders.  It adds a dynamic asset to the Raiders offense that they haven’t had in a couple years.  In the past scouting the Raiders was keeping them out of the paint. Now if you zone in too much on that Rohan will burn you from the outside.  There was a stretch of three games this season where Luke hit 17 threes.  From that point on his confidence has been high, and his stroke has been smooth.  Adding him to the dominant post players in the Raiders arsenal is almost like a cheat code.

Luke took the time to talk with YSN’s Anthony Hartwig about the wonderful season he has had.  They discuss how the leadership of the Raiders has helped him grow, the unity this team has shown, and much more.  Check out the latest South Range Player Profile only on YSN!
