FALCONS SWEEP THE NIGHT AGAINST WHITING

Astro Falcons weathered a scare by Whiting Roll-Offs in the fourth inning where Astro Falcons coughed up three runs, but they still won 19-5 on Tuesday.  Whiting big bats were led by Corbin Sevcik, Grant Melder, and Ben Kern, all driving in runs in the frame.

Astro Falcons got things moving in the first inning, when Bo Fornataro singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

Jaden Rishel got the win for Astro Falcons. He lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and five runs while striking out one.  

Cameron Foy led things off on the pitcher’s mound for Whiting. He lasted two-thirds of an inning, allowing five hits and nine runs. 

Astro Falcons scattered 15 hits in the game.  Joey Gentile, Ryan DiLullo, Jake Schneider, Jay Michael Wrona, and Rishel all had multiple hits.  Rishel, Wrona, Schneider, DiLullo, and Gentile each collected two hits to lead.

Thomas led Whiting with two hits in three at bats.

ASTROS ELEVATE PAST WHITING IN GAME 1

Tuesday was a long day for Whiting Roll-Offs, falling to Astro Falcons 10-4.

Astro Falcons opened up an early lead in the second inning when Ryan DiLullo doubled on a 3-1 count, scoring two runs.

In the top of the third inning, Whiting tied things up at four.  Nate Thomas’s sac fly scored one run.

Astro Falcons took the lead for good with one run in the fourth inning. Bo Fornataro drew a walk, scoring one run.

Shawn Kristophel led things off on the hill for Astro Falcons. He went five and a third innings, allowing four runs on seven hits and striking out three.

Ben Kern led things off on the mound for Whiting. He allowed six hits and five runs over three and a third innings, striking out four.  

Whiting scattered nine hits in the game.  Kern, Ben Miller, and Owen Keister all managed multiple hits.  Kern went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead in hits.

Astro Falcons racked up 12 hits in the game.  Jay Wrona, Kolten Ruark, and DiLullo all collected multiple hits.

CREEKSIDE USES EARLY LEAD TO PREVAIL OVER WHITING

Whiting Roll-Offs fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 9-5 loss to Creekside on Sunday.  Creekside scored two on a single by Tyler Mikulin in the first inning.

Whiting  tallied three runs in the third inning.  Corbin Sevcik, Nate Thomas, and Owen Keister all drove in runs in the frame.

Creekside scored three runs in the seventh inning.  The big inning came thanks to a single by Jacob Werner and an error on a ball put in play by Mikulin.

Michael Patellis got the start for Creekside. He surrendered three runs on five hits over four innings, striking out five and walking one.

Grant Melder led things off on the hill for Whiting. He lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and five runs while striking out one.  

Whiting totaled ten hits.  Thomas, Ben Miller, and Melder each racked up multiple hits.  Thomas went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Whiting in hits.

Creekside tallied 11 hits in the game.  Werner, Dylan Sheeley and Mikulin all managed multiple hits for.  Werner led Creekside with three hits in four at bats.

WHITING NABS BIG WIN OVER EAGLE WEAR

Whiting Roll-Offs nabbed the lead late in the game in a 17-10 victory over Eaglewear on Saturday.  Whiting trailed 9-8 in the top of the fourth inning when Nate Thomas singled on a 3-1 count, scoring two runs.

Whiting was boosted by Ben Miller who went 4-for-4 at the plate.  Miller singled in the first, singled in the second, tripled in the fourth, and tripled in the fourth.

Eaglewear opened up scoring in the first inning when JD Memo drew a walk, scoring one run.

Cameron Foy was credited with the victory for Whiting. He went three innings, allowing nine runs on five hits and striking out two. 

Jacob Lample toed the rubber for Eaglewear. He lasted two and a third innings, allowing four hits and seven runs while striking out two.  

Whiting totaled 14 hits.  Miller, Thomas, Grant Melder, and Keister all had multiple hits for Whiting.  Miller went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead in hits.

Eaglewear saw the ball well today, racking up six hits in the game.  Evan Gilson and Baron Hardy each racked up multiple hits.

PROSPECTS GRAB LEAD LATE TO BEAT WHITING

Prospects defeated Whiting 9-6 on Wednesday after taking the lead late in the game.  The game was tied at six with Prospects batting in the bottom of the sixth when Kris Hrosar singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

Prospects earned the victory despite allowing Whiting to score four runs in the first inning.  Whiting’s big inning was driven by singles by Grant Melder, Nate Thomas, Owen Keister, and Sam Patton.

Whiting got things started in the first inning.  Melder drove in one when he singled.

Carter Knupp took the win for Prospects. He went three innings, allowing one run on one hit and striking out two.

Grayson Hooks took the loss for Whiting. He allowed six hits and five runs over one and one-third innings, striking out two and walking one.

Prospects racked up 15 hits in the game.  Caleb Hadley, Michael Condoleon, Stephen Palmer, Knupp, and Ciminero all managed multiple hits.  Hadley led the way with three hits in four at bats.

Whiting racked up ten hits.  Thomas, Keister, and Melder each racked up multiple hits for Whiting.  Thomas went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead.
