LADY EAGLES LIGHT UP NORTON

AKRON, OH- There were runs aplenty on Sunday, as the Hubbard Lady Eagles defeated Norton 9-6.  Norton opened up scoring in the first inning. Skidmore drove in one when she doubled.  However, after a couple of goose eggs on offense, the Eagles pulled away for good with five runs in the third inning. In the frame Sydney Bowser singled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring one run, Hannah Kist drew a walk with the bases loaded, Jackie Adler singled, scoring one run, and Hubbard scored two on an error in center field.

Norton scored three runs in the seventh inning but just couldn’t complete the comeback on the Lady Eagles. Norton’s big inning was driven by singles by Brokloff and Azzolina.

Grace Narkum earned the victory in the pitcher’s circle for Hubbard Lady Eagles Varsity. She allowed ten hits and six runs over seven innings, striking out three and walking zero.

Appel took the loss for Norton. She lasted five innings, allowing six hits and seven runs while striking out seven.

Hubbard totaled nine hits. BowserKellsie LeshnakAdler, and Gillian Ryser all managed multiple hits for the team. RyserAdlerLeshnak, and Bowser each managed two hits to set the tone for the day.

Norton totaled ten hits in the game. AmentiniSkidmore, and Brokloff each collected multiple hits for Norton.

POLAND WIPES OUT WEST BRANCH

BELOIT, OH- Poland sailed to an easy victory over West Branch 14-1 on Saturday.  The Bulldogs opened up scoring in the first inning, when Braeden O’Shaughnessy singled, scoring one run.  Poland would put up seven runs in the fifth inning. Zachary YaskulkaMj FarberMason MccurdyRobbie Seitz, and Nate Hayes all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Mike Kushner pitched Poland to victory. He surrendered one run on two hits over four innings, striking out three. Seitz threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

David Cunningham took the loss for West Branch. He lasted two innings, allowing nine hits and six runs.

The Bulldog offense was red-hot and tallied 18 hits on the day. O’ShaughnessyJake BaconMccurdyFarber, and Braden Olson each managed multiple hits for the Big Blue. Bacon and O’Shaughnessy each collected three hits to lead the team. Poland was also clean on defense with no errors.

LADY RAIDERS CRUISE OUT OF MYRTLE WITH A WIN

Bree Kohler didn’t allow a single run against Keyser, throwing a complete game shutout and leading South Range to a 8-0 victory on Friday

The Raiders pulled off the big victory without ever scoring many runs in an inning. The most they scored was two in the seventh.

The Raiders got things started in the first inning.  Bree Kohler drove in two when she homered.

A single by Alexa Shoemaker in the fourth inning was a positive for Keyser.

Bree Kohler earned the win for South Range. She allowed two hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out 12 and walking one.

Shoemaker took the loss for Keyser. She surrendered six runs on eight hits over six innings, striking out two.

The Raiders tallied one home run on the day. Bree Kohler went for the long ball in the first inning.

South Range saw the ball well today, racking up 11 hits in the game.  Hanna Dennison, Kali Dudich, and Bree Kohler all managed multiple hits for South Range Raiders.  Bree Kohler, Kali Dudich, and Hanna Dennison all had two hits to lead South Range Raiders.  Hanna Dennison led the Raiders with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with nine stolen bases.

Keyser didn’t commit a single error in the field. Aubrey Smith had the most chances in the field with six.

HUBBARD SNEAKS PAST WILDCATS

HUBBARD, OH- The Struthers Wildcats watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 2-0 loss to Hubbard on Wednesday.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Hubbard pitchers struck out 12, while Struthers sat down five.

In the first inning, Hubbard got their offense started when Evan Jarvis drew a walk, scoring one run.  The one bright spot for Struthers was a single by Jacob McQueen in the first inning.

Dylan Durkos got the win for Hubbard. He allowed five hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out 12 and walking zero.

Jared Laczko took the loss for Struthers. He allowed two hits and two runs over six innings, striking out five.

Rob TomkoBilly OpritzaHunter StellatoMcQueen, and Laczko all had one hit to lead the Wildcats.

BARTH, BULLDOGS WHEEL AND DEAL PAST SPRINGFIELD

POLAND, OH- Poland snatched the lead late in the game in a 5-4 victory over Springfield on Thursday. The game was tied at four with Poland batting in the bottom of the sixth when Alex Barth singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.

Poland opened up an early lead in the second inning when Mason Mccurdy singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run. In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Bulldogs tied things up at four when Braeden O’Shaughnessy singled, scoring one run.

Barth was credited with the victory for Poland. He allowed eight hits and four runs over seven innings, striking out two.

Mitchell Seymour took the loss for Springfield. He surrendered two runs on four hits over two innings, striking out four and walking zero.  Chris Thompson started the game for Springfield. He went four innings, allowing three runs on two hits and striking out six

Barth also went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Poland Seminary in hits. The Bulldogs also stole eight bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Braden Olson led the way with two.

Springfield tallied eight hits in the game. John SlikeDrew Clark, and Seymour all had multiple hits for Springfield. Springfield didn’t commit a single error in the field. Slike had ten chances in the field, the most on the team.

POLAND CONQUERS SPARTANS, STAY PERFECT

Poland defeated Boardman 8-7 on Thursday after taking the lead late in the game.  The game was tied at six with the Bulldogs batting in the top of the seventh when Ashley Wire singled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.

Both pitching staffs had their hands full, frequently dealing with runners on base. Poland collected 12 hits and Boardman had 12.

Boardman captured the lead in the second inning when Wire’s wild pitch allowed two runs to score for Boardman.

Boardman scored three runs in the inning.  Alicia Saxton and Lauren Maughn each had RBIs in the big inning.

Wire got the win for Poland. She surrendered seven runs on 12 hits over seven innings, striking out one.

Madison Lester took the loss for the Spartans. She surrendered eight runs on 12 hits over seven innings, striking out ten.

Poland racked up 12 hits.  Wire, Jackie Grisdale, and Brooke Bobbey all had multiple hits for Poland Seminary Bulldogs Varsity.  Grisdale and Wire each managed three hits to lead the Bulldogs.

Boardman racked up 12 hits in the game.  Lester, Maughn, and Saxton all collected multiple hits.  Lester went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Boardman in hits.

LADY EAGLES CLAW THEIR WAY TO VICTORY OVER MATHEWS

MATHEWS, OH- Hubbard snatched the lead late in the game in an 11-5 victory over Mathews on Friday. The game was tied at five with the Lady Eagles batting in the top of the fifth when an error scored one run for Hubbard.

Hubbard got things moving in the first inning, when Jackie Adler singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.  Hubbard scored three runs in the seventh inning. Hubbard batters contributing to the big inning included Grace NarkumSydney Bowser, and Haley Croyle, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Narkum took the win for Hubbard. She surrendered five runs on four hits over six and two-thirds innings, striking out six.

Becca Landis took the loss for Mathews. She went five innings, allowing seven runs on 14 hits, striking out two and walking one.

Hubbard hit one home run on the day. Bowser went deep in the seventh inning.  Hubbard tallied 20 hits in the game. Hannah KistBowserEmily FilickyCroyleKellsie LeshnakNarkum, and Adler each racked up multiple hits for the Lady Eagles. Kist led the team with four hits in five at-bats.

Ashley Deans went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Mathews in hits.

KILPATRICK DRIVES IN FOUR, LAKEVIEW STEALS THEIR WAY TO WIN OVER LIBERTY

CORTLAND, OH- Brendon Kilpatrick was bad news for opposing pitchers on Friday, driving in four on three hits to lead Lakeview past Liberty 11-1 on Friday. Kilpatrick drove in runs on a double in the fourth and a single in the fifth.

Lakeview secured the victory thanks to six runs in the fourth inning. KilpatrickJake Wilms, and Kevin Ellsworth-Myers each had RBIs in the frame.

Clay Lazzari got the win for Lakeview. He surrendered one run on one hit over five innings, striking out seven.

Lakeview collected 13 hits on the day. KilpatrickLazzariEllsworth-Myers, and Wilms all had multiple hits for the Bulldogs. Kilpatrick went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Lakeview in hits. The Bulldogs also tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases. Matthew McRoberts led the way with three.

HARVEY KNOCKS IN WALK OFF WINNER FOR LAKEVIEW

CORTLAND, OH- it came down to the wire on Thursday, with Lakeview taking victory on a dramatic walk-off single in the late innings that sealed their victory over Marlington. Lakeview was down 12-11 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Madison Harvey singled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring the tying, and game-winning runs.

Beady Titus collected four hits in five at-bats to help lead Lakeview  to victory.Titus singled in the third, singled in the fifth, singled in the sixth, and singled in the seventh.

Lakeview opened up scoring in the second inning, when Harvey singled, scoring one run.  Raegan Schick earned the win for the Lady Bulldogs. She surrendered three runs on three hits over four and a third innings, striking out two.

Shatzer took the loss for Marlington. She went six and two-thirds innings, allowing 13 runs on 22 hits and striking out three.

Cait Kelm started the game for Lakeview. She lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing six hits and nine runs while striking out three and walking zero.

Lakeview scattered an unbelievable 22 hits in the game. Laura GarvinHarveyTitusSchickKelmAbbie Campana, and Mariah Tackett all managed multiple hits for Lakeview. TitusHarvey, and Garvin all had four hits to lead the team.

Marlington racked up nine hits in the game. Davis and Crone, all managed multiple hits for Marlington.

BAJERSKI, SOUTH RANGE TAKE CARE OF MARLINGTON

MARLINGTON, OH- The South Range Raiders cruised to an easy victory over Marlington 10-3 on Thursday.  The Raiders opened up scoring in the first inning when Jared Bajerski singled, scoring one run.

The Burgundy and Gold would add three runs in the seventh inning. Trey Pancake and Jared Bajerski each had RBIs in the frame.

Nick Habeth was the winning pitcher for Raiders. He surrendered three runs on eight hits over six and two-thirds innings, striking out nine and walking one.

Connor Evanich took the loss for Marlington. He lasted one and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and five runs while striking out one.

Marlington had two home runs on the day. Andrew Pucci went for the long ball in the sixth inning. Levi Rogers had a four-bagger in the first.

The Raiders saw the ball well today, racking up 11 hits in the game.  BajerskiTrey PancakeJosh Stear, and Ben Rivera each had multiple hits for the RaidersBen RiveraJosh StearTrey Pancake, and Jared Bajerski each collected two hits to lead the team.
