YOUNGSTOWN OH-  Liberty High School is gearing up for another thrilling basketball season, and all eyes are on senior standout Armani Franklin. A vocal leader both on and off the court, Franklin is poised to leave a lasting impact on the Liberty Girls Basketball program.

Entering her final year, Franklin reflects on her journey with mixed emotions. “Honestly, it feels good to be almost done with everything, but when it’s all said and done, I’m not ready for it to be over,” she shared. Her focus remains steadfast on making the most of her last season, aiming to go out with a bang. Franklin’s leadership extends beyond mere words; it’s about fostering potential and building young talent. “When I’m being vocal on the court, I’m trying to make sure my team is getting to where they want to be. I want the best for all my teammates,” she explained.

Her journey in basketball started in third grade, inspired by her sister and other team players like Demi Watson and Sienna Leah. Since then, Franklin has not only grown as an athlete but also picked up invaluable life skills through the sport. “Basketball teaches you about communication, trust, and maturing as a person,” she highlighted. Looking ahead, Franklin dreams of continuing her basketball journey in college, with aspirations to major in real estate, business, or law. She’s open to opportunities both near and far, with a particular interest in Atlanta’s Clark Atlanta University.

Off the court, Franklin’s bond with Coach Elaine Jacobs has been pivotal. “God just sent her to me at the right moment,” she said, emphasizing the positive influence Jacobs has had on her life beyond basketball. As Franklin prepares for her next chapter, she expresses immense gratitude for her supporters. “I’m thankful for every opportunity, every coach, every teacher, and my whole community,” she stated.
