PROSPECTS GET THEIR GROOVE BACK

STRUTHERS OH- In a sun-soaked showdown at Bob Cene Park on Saturday, the Prospects Pirates outdueled the Brooklyn Sluggers 6-4.

Seth Mehle and Brixton Gilmour each had two hits, with Mehle scoring a run and Gilmour driving in two. Jackson Stuart was unstoppable with four hits and a run, while Camron Herrick chipped in with a double, an RBI, and a run. Isaiah Burgess was clutch on the mound, pitching three hitless innings, striking out three for the win. Mikey Bocchino led Brooklyn with two hits, including a double, and a run.

PROSPECTS CANT FIRE UP ENOUGH OFFENSE

STRUTHERS OH- Saturday at Bob Cene Park, Diamond Boys 16U Showcase edged out Prospects Pirates 3-1.

Nick Labella and Daniel Wise each knocked in a run for Diamond Boys. Wise also shined on the mound, pitching a complete game, allowing five hits and one run while striking out five. Camron Herrick kept Prospects in the game with two hits, including a double, and scored their lone run.

CREEKSIDE NOT COOLING DOWN

STRUTHERS OH- Friday at Bob Cene Park, Creekside Fitness topped Prospects Pirates 4-2 in NABF action as part of the Junior World Series.

Danny Leonard led the way for Creekside with three hits and two RBIs. Williams Shaffer threw six strong innings, allowing eight hits and one earned run while striking out six. For the Prospects, Brandon Toot had two hits, including a double, an RBI, and a run, while Jackson Stuart chipped in with three hits, including a double, and a run.

PROSPECTS OPEN UP NABF ACTION THE RIGHT WAY

STRUTHERS OH- Thursday night at Bob Cene Park, Prospects Pirates took down Longhorns Mitchner 8-3.

Brandon Toot and Brixton Gilmour each chipped in with a hit, two RBIs, and a run for the Prospects. Elliot Gebhardt was solid on the mound, going 5 1/3 innings, giving up four hits and three runs while racking up nine strikeouts. Nathan Phillips tried to keep the Longhorns in it with two hits and two RBIs.

ASTRO FALCONS SWEEP THEIR WAY TO FINALS

STRUTHERS OH- Astro Falcons soared to a 9-3 win over Prospects in Game 2 of the 16U playoffs semifinals. Rowan Urbach was on fire with four hits, including a double, racking up two RBIs and scoring twice. Gavin Hiscox also came through with three hits, two RBIs, and two runs. Brysan Zirwas chipped in with two hits, and Taco Verraco smashed a homer, driving in two runs and scoring twice.

On the Prospects’ side, Nathan Paolucci had two hits and a run. Austin Rowe also added two hits and a run, while Isaiah Burgess hit a triple, drove in a run, and scored.

This win sends the Astro Falcons to the championship round, where they’ll face off against Avalanche. Game 1 of the championship series is set for Sunday, July 7 at 4:30 on Cene 1. Get ready for the showdown!

FALCONS STEAL GAME ONE

STRUTHERS OH- In a rollercoaster Game 1 of the Class B Baseball 16U semifinal series, the Astro Falcons came out on top, edging out the Prospects 10-9 despite a shaky inning where they gave up 8 runs. It was a wild ride from start to finish, with both teams putting on an offensive show that kept fans on the edge of their seats.

The Falcons’ bats were on fire, led by Chase Gelpi, who went 1-4 with 3 RBIs, and Ty McCaskey, who chipped in with a 1-2 performance and 2 RBIs. Gavin Hiscox was a standout, going 3-4, driving in a run, and scoring three times. Brysan Zirwas was perfect at the plate, going 3-3 with an RBI, while Rowan Urbach added a 2-4 performance, driving in a run and scoring twice. Taco Verraco also contributed with a hit, an RBI, and a run scored.

On the Prospects’ side, Austin Rowe and Brixton Gilmour both went 1-4 with 2 RBIs, a walk, and a run scored. Canton Herrick had a solid game, going 1-2 with an RBI, two walks, and a run. Vincent Weeks also chipped in with an RBI, a walk, and a run scored.

 

PROSPECTS OUTLAST ATHLETIX TO MOVE ON IN PLAYOFFS

STRUTHERS OH- In a marathon game that lasted 12 innings, the Prospects edged out Athletix 7-6. Brandon Toot was a standout, racking up three hits, including a triple, and scoring twice. Nathan Paolucci added two hits, including a double, drove in two runs, and scored once. Aidan Anders was on fire with four hits, including a double, two RBIs, and a run. Cam Herrick contributed with two hits, a double, and two RBIs, while Payton Plizga had two hits and a run.

Austin Rowe was clutch on the mound, pitching four innings, giving up just two hits and no earned runs while striking out five.

For Athletix, Cale Moraski had two hits, an RBI, and a run. Tyler Kirlik delivered three hits, including a double and an RBI. Josh McFadden also had three hits and drove in two runs, while JD Henderson shined with three hits, including two doubles, an RBI, and three runs.

 

KNIGHTLINE GRAB A HIGH SCORING WIN

STRUTHERS OH- Knightline edged out Prospects in a nail-biter, 13-12. Taggart Carfangia was a standout with two hits, three RBIs, and two runs. Santino Ciambotti and Mike Scavnicky each added two hits, an RBI, and a run. Aiden Thompson had a big game with two hits, including a triple, driving in two and scoring once. Luke Young chipped in with two hits, an RBI, and crossed the plate twice.

For Prospects, Ethan Powell had two hits, an RBI, and two runs. Hunter Stacy had a great game, smashing a triple among his two hits, driving in two, and scoring three times. Gabe Erwin added two hits and an RBI to the mix.

PROSPECTS HAVING A GOOD DAY

STRUTHERS OH- In a thrilling Sunday matchup in the 16U Class B Baseball, the Prospects overpowered Ballistic with an 11-2 victory.

Isaiah Burgess was on a tear with three hits and three runs. Vincent Weeks chipped in with two hits and an RBI. Seth Domes smacked a double, driving in two runs. Brandon Toot blasted a triple, bringing in a run and scoring twice himself. Elliot Gebhardt handled the mound, going five innings, giving up seven hits and two runs while fanning eight.

For Ballistic, Kyle Gilson put up a fight with three hits, including two doubles and an RBI, but it wasn’t enough to match the Prospects’ offensive onslaught.

PROSPECTS SET SAIL TO VICTORY

STRUTHERS OH- In an 18U Class B Baseball showdown on Sunday, the Prospects dominated Eagle Wear with a 14-5 victory.

Dominic Santee crushed it with a double, an RBI, and scored a run. Evan Tuttle was on fire, racking up three hits, including two doubles, an RBI, and three runs. Grady Terzola had a big day with two hits, a double, two RBIs, and three runs. Reggie Danko added two hits, two RBIs, and a run. On the mound, Terzola pitched five solid innings, giving up just two hits and one run while striking out six for the win.

For Eagle Wear, Jake Jenkins managed a double and two RBIs, but it wasn’t enough to match Prospects’ firepower.
