DURA EDGE PUTS DOWN PROSPECTS

STRUTHERS OH- Dura Edge and Prospects both pitched well in Tuesday night’s Class B action. Dura Edge scored 2 in the first, and that would be enough. Adding an insurance run later, they beat Prospects 3-1.

Ryan Telesz went 1-3 on the day with a RBI. Nick Leasure went 1-2 with a walk. Mason Ludwig went 1-3 with a run scored. Joseph Bobusci also went 1-3 with a run scored.

Ludwig was able to grab the win as well on the mound. He went 6 innings and gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He set down 5 on strikes.

Jack Lephemer was strong at the dish for Prospects. He went 1-2 with a RBI. Olindo Pezzone went 1-3 with a run scored. Caleb Hadley went 1-2 with a walk.

Lephemer was a tough luck loser, pitching well in 7 innings. He gave up 2 earned runs on 5 hits. Lephemer struck out a solid 11 hitters on the night.

PROSPECTS PUT WHITING OUT TO DRY

STRUTHERS OH- Prospects were able to make some waves on Wednesday night in 18U Class B action. They did away with Whiting Roll-Offs 7-2.

The Prospects bats were on a tear. Michael Galterio went 2-3 with a walk, a run scored, and a RBI. Tino Multari went 1-3 with a RBI. Brandon Popio went 2-4 with 2 runs scored.

Austen Price pitched well on the mound for Prospects. He went 5 innings giving up 2 runs on 5 hits. He struck out 7 and walked 4.

Matt Graeber had a nice day for Whiting despite their troubles. He went 2-3 with 2 RBI.  Benny Dottle went 1-3 with a walk.

Tim Lewis picked up the loss for Whiting. He gave up 5 runs on 5 hits in 5 innings pitched. He struck out 4 and walked 6.

PROSPECTS PITCH THEIR WAY TO VICTORY

STRUTHERS OH- The pitching in Monday nights 18U game between Prospects and Creekside was solid on both sides. The two teams combined for 3 runs on 9 hits. The Prospects came out on top 2-1.

Jeremy Kreuzwieser was a staple in the Prospects offense going 1-3 and driving in both RBI’s. Brandon Popio went 1-2 with a walk and a run scored. Tino Multari went 1-2 with a walk.

Sully Brown pitched the gem on the bump for the Prospects. He went all 7 innings giving up 1 run on 4 hits. He struck out 10 and walked only 1. Clayton Bucher went 2-2 on the day for Creekside with a walk and a run scored. Peyton Zupko went 1-2 with a RBI.

Gage Gillott took the loss for Creekside. He went 4.2 IP giving up 2 runs on 5 hits. He struck out 8 and walked 4. 

PROSPECTS PILE IT ON VSN

STRUTHERS OH-

Prospects defeated VSN 14-4 on Saturday thanks to ten runs in the third inning. The big inning was thanks to singles by David Moyer, Samuel Landis, Tony Flask, Dominic Ryan, and Diesel Williams, a triple by Gabe Titus, and a groundout by Montgomery Hart.

In the first inning, VSN got their offense started when John Darnley singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Prospects pulled away for good with three runs in the second inning. In the second they scored on a stolen base during Donovan McCoy’s at bat. Then McCoy tripled and Landis singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Prospects scored ten runs in the third inning. They put the pressure on, lead by singles by Moyer, Landis, Flask, Ryan, and Williams, a triple by Titus, and a groundout by Hart.

Hart led things off on the mound for Prospects. Hart lasted four innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out two.

Sean Harrington started the game for  VSN. Harrington surrendered 13 runs on 16 hits over three and a third innings. Seth Richards threw one inning in relief.

Prospects collected 19 hits. Ryan, Dominic Santee, Moyer, Titus, Landis, and McCoy all had multiple hits. Titus, Moyer, Santee, and Ryan all had three hits to lead.

VSN tallied seven hits in the game. Rocco Ferreri and Darnley each managed multiple hits.

BALLISTIC SNEAKS AWAY FROM PROSPECTS

STRUTHERS OH- Ballistic pulled away with a highly contested win on Thursday in a high scoring affair with Prospects 8-7.

Mathew Lindsey went 2-4 for Ballistic with a run scored and 2 RBI. Brady Harmon had a perfect day at the plate going 2-2 with 3 runs scored. He walked once and drove in a RBI. Tyler Cunningham also went without being retired. He went 1-1 with 2 walks and a RBI.

Harman was given the win for Ballistic. He threw 2 innings and gave up 1 ER on 2 H. He recorded the only strike out of the day for Ballistic’s pitching staff.

Jack Kenney had a strong day on offense for Prospects. He went 2-3 on the day with 2 runs scored. He knocked in 2 RBI. Jack Lephemer went 2-3 as well with 2 RBI. He scored a run. Andrew Kirilla went 1-3 with a run scored and a RBI. Evan Tice went 2-4 with a run scored.

Olindo Pezzone took the loss on the mound. He threw 2 innings giving up 2 ER on 2 H. He struck out 1 and walked 2.

QUICK START ENOUGH TO GET PROSPECTS BY EAGLE WEAR

STRUTHERS OH- It was a three run first inning that set the tone for the Prospects on Wednesday night as they got by Eagle Wear 5-3.

The Prospects only got 3 hits in their win but walked 8 times. AJ Stallsmith went 1-2 with a RBI. Michael Galterio went 1-1 with 2 walks and 2 runs scored. Jeremy Kreuzwieser also walked twice and crossed the plate once.

Kreuzwieser pitched the entire game for Prospects going 6 innings. He gave up 3 ER on 7 H. Kreuzwieser struck out 8 and walked 3.

Eli Harpalani went 2-2 for Eagle Wear, he scored a run and knocked in one as well. Jordan Sheehan went 2-3 with a RBI. Steve Rohan went 1-2 with a run scored.

Sam Amodeo took the loss on the hill for Eagle Wear. He pitched 5 innings and gave up 2 ER on 2 H. He struck out 4 and walked 4.

PROSPECTS PUSH BACK EAGLEWEAR

SPRINGFIELD OH-

Prospects beat Eaglewear 7-2 on Monday.

In the first inning, Prospects got their offense started when Dylan Smith’s wild pitch allowed two runs to score .

Freddy Bolchalk was on the mound for Prospects. The righty allowed one hit and two runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one.

Smith led things off on the mound for Eaglewear. The pitcher allowed three hits and two runs over one and one-third innings, striking out two and walking zero. Ronnie Trimble and Gavin Loomis entered the game as relief, throwing four and two-thirds innings and one inning respectively.

The Prospects scattered nine hits in the game. Dominic Ryan and Marco Kubancsek each racked up multiple hits. Kubancsek and Ryan each collected two hits to lead.

Eaglewear tallied ten hits on the day. Loomis, Trimble, and Jaden Wallace each managed multiple hits.

EAGLE WEAR CLOSES THE DOOR ON PROSPECTS

STRUTHERS OH- Eagle Wear advanced to the Class B semifinals on Friday night with a dominating 15-2 win over Prospects.

Anthony Caruso filled up the state sheet for Eagle Wear in the win. He went 3-4 with a run scored, a walk, and a RBI. Ian Barton also had a productive night going 2-5 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI. Brett Brown added on going 2-4 with 2 runs scored, a walk, and 2 RBI.

It was a tough night offensively for Prospects, but Lucas Lancaster had a good game going 1-2 with a RBI. Jake Hettrick went 1-2 with a run scored.

Jake Papagallo picked up the win for Eagle Wear on the bump. He went 6 innings giving up 2 runs on 5 hits and striking out 5.

ROTH PUTS DOWN PROSPECTS AND ADVANCES

STRUTHERS OH-

Roth Brothers snagged a late lead and defeated Prospects 10-4 on Friday.  Roth was down 4-3 in the top of the seventh inning when Dylan Casey singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

Roth secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the seventh inning.  Casey, John Cambert, Logan Baxter, Brendan Ray, and Tyler Wardle all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Prospects got things moving in the first inning.  Cobey Airwikie  grounded out, scoring one run.

CJ Frasco led the Roth to victory on the mound. He allowed two hits and zero runs over five and a third innings, striking out eight.

Caleb Hadley toed the rubber for Prospects. He surrendered seven runs on ten hits over six and a third innings, striking out four.  

Roth tallied 13 hits in the game.  Ray, Cambert, Ben Wilcox, and Wardle each collected multiple hits.  Wardle, Wilcox, Cambert, and Ray each collected two hits to lead Roth.

Michael Condoleon led Prospects with three hits in three at bats.  

PROSPECTS KEEP THEIR SEASON ALIVE

STRUTHERS OH- Prospects had to endure a furious rally from Eagle Wear to win Game 2 7-6 on Thursday and force a decisive Game 3. Prospects took a 7-1 lead into the 6th inning, but three Eagle Wear runs in the 6th and two more in the 7th made Prospects sweat it out.

Prospects made the most of their hits, as they only managed 6. Lucas Lancaster collected 2 RBI without a hit. Jake Dohy went 1-3 with a run scored and a RBI. Zach Macik went 1-4 with a RBI.

For Eagle Wear, Josh Loew went 1-4 with a run scored and 2 RBI. Zach Luciano went 2-4 with a run scored. Jack Papagallo collected 2 RBI without a hit.

Jack Liepheimer got the victory on the mound for Prospects. He went 4 innings giving up 1 run on 5 hits. He struck out 3.
