CAMPBELL’S HISTORIC SEASON CONTINUES

BROOKFIELD OH- In yet another dazzling performance, the Campbell volleyball team extended their historic season with an emphatic sweep of Brookfield on the road, securing victory with set scores of 25-17, 25-14, and 25-22. The Red Devils showcased their prowess, leaving no doubt about their status as a formidable force in the league.

Campbell’s triumph was propelled by standout performances from key players. Kendall Brunn led the charge with an impressive 10 kills and a commanding 4 aces, demonstrating her ability to both terminate points and make an impact from the service line.

MiLeena Williams made her presence felt with 9 kills and an impressive 4 blocks, showcasing her skills as both an attacker and defender at the net. Angeliz Diaz and Carla Ramirez Ortiz contributed with 2 blocks each, adding to Campbell’s formidable defensive wall.

Carla Ramirez Ortiz continued her record-breaking season by amassing 23 assists, cementing her legacy with an incredible 2,000 career assists. Her precise setting and ability to orchestrate the offense have been pivotal to Campbell’s success.

Defensively, Cyra Cross and Kendall Brunn each recorded 11 digs, while Gabby Villanueva Santos and Carla Ramirez Ortiz contributed 8 digs apiece, ensuring that Brookfield’s offensive efforts were met with staunch resistance.

On the Brookfield side, notable performances included Cailey Wellman’s 15 kills and 8 blocks, Araina Jones with 7 kills and 5 digs, and Rylie Burdge’s 22 assists. The Brookfield team displayed resilience and determination throughout the match.

CHAMPION STIFFLES CAMPBELL MEMORIAL

CAMPBELL, OH – It was a crisp, autumn evening, and the excitement in the air was palpable as the Champion Golden Flashes prepared to take on the Campbell Memorial Red Devils. The stadium was packed with eager fans, their cheers echoing through the chilly night. The first quarter had been a defensive battle, with neither team managing to penetrate the other’s end zone. But as the second quarter began, the game’s momentum was about to change in a dramatic fashion.

With just over three minutes remaining in the second quarter, the Golden Flashes’ defense stepped up in a big way. The Red Devils, trying to mount a drive and break the deadlock, were moving the ball steadily downfield. But the Champion defense had other plans. As Campbell Memorial took a run off the edge, defensive lineman Michael Sanders exploded off the line of scrimmage with a burst of speed that left the offensive line stunned. With a perfectly timed swipe of his massive hand, Sanders knocked the ball out. The stadium gasped in unison as the football tumbled towards the ground. Without missing a beat, Connor McDermott pounced on the loose ball, scooping it up with a single fluid motion. The crowd erupted in cheers as he turned and sprinted downfield with the pigskin cradled in his arms. His teammates raced alongside him, providing crucial blocks and clearing a path to the end zone.

With every step, it seemed as though McDermott was fueled by the energy of the roaring crowd. He streaked downfield, running 40 yards with the football. The end zone beckoned, and as he crossed the goal line, he spiked the ball in celebration.

With the crowd still buzzing, the Golden Flashes lined up for the extra point attempt. The snap was clean, the hold was perfect, and the kicker’s boot was good. The extra point sailed through the uprights, and Champion now led 7-0 with just three minutes remaining in the second quarter.

Despite a valiant effort, the Campbell Memorial Red Devils found themselves struggling to gain any momentum. The Golden Flashes’ defense continued to stifle their offense, forcing turnovers left and right. By the end of the game, the Red Devils had committed a total of five turnovers, a testament to Champion’s tenacious defense.

Connor McDermott’s remarkable 40-yard fumble recovery had made all the difference, and the Golden Flashes and their fans celebrated their triumph on that memorable autumn evening.

ITS A RECORD BREAKING NIGHT FOR CAMPBELL

WARREN OH- In a historic night for Campbell volleyball, the team etched their names in the annals of the program’s history with a remarkable victory over Champion. The four-set battle culminated in a program-record seventh conference win, solidifying their dominance with set scores of 25-20, 25-19, 21-25, and 25-17.

Carla Ramirez Ortiz was the standout star of the night, delivering a record-breaking performance that will be remembered for years to come. She not only set the school record for most assists in a game but also surpassed the career record with a staggering 1982 assists to her name. Her ability to orchestrate the team’s offense was pivotal in securing the victory.

Kendall Brunn shone brightly on the offensive front, recording an incredible 22 kills with a remarkable hitting percentage of .396. Her ability to find the right angles and deliver powerful attacks was a constant source of trouble for the Champion defense.

MiLeena Williams added to the offensive firepower with 15 kills, while Cyra Cross contributed 12 kills, showcasing the team’s depth in attacking talent. Williams and Brunn each recorded 2 blocks, highlighting their presence at the net.

Carla Ramirez Ortiz’s all-around contribution extended beyond assists, as she notched 4 aces to her name. MiLeena Williams added 3 aces to the mix, keeping the pressure on Champion.

Campbell’s success in this matchup was underscored by their strong serving and powerful attacks. Cyra Cross led the serving charge with four aces, keeping Niles on their heels throughout the game.

Kendall Brunn was a force to be reckoned with, amassing an impressive 16 kills. Her attacks were characterized by precision and power, causing headaches for the Niles defense. Cyra Cross and Elysia Rudolphi each contributed six kills, showcasing the team’s depth in offensive talent. MiLeena Williams added five kills to the mix.

CAMPBELL, OH – The Campbell Memorial Red Devils have bright spots all over the field, two of those athletes are Jacob Tovarniak and Dre Brown. Jacob, a cornerstone of the Campbell Memorial football team, is a junior who wears multiple hats as an offensive tackle and defensive end. Standing tall and powerful on the offensive line, Tovarniak is a force to be reckoned with, consistently protecting his teammates and creating opportunities for his offense to shine. On the defensive side, his relentless pursuit of the quarterback and ability to disrupt plays have made him a formidable presence. Beyond the field, Jacob is known for his leadership, often motivating his teammates to give their best both on and off the field. Coming off a tough match up with the Garrettsville Garfield G-Men in week 6, the Red Devils will return home this week as they will take on the Champion Flashes on Friday night.

CAMPBELL MAKES IT A SEASON SWEEP OF GARFIELD

GARRETTSVILLE OH- In a thrilling rematch, Campbell’s volleyball team emerged victorious over Garfield, securing their second win of the season against the G-Men. The four-set battle showcased the determination and skill of both teams, with final scores of 19-25, 25-21, 25-5, and 25-22.

Campbell’s success in this contest was punctuated by a stellar serving performance. MiLeena Williams led the charge with an impressive four aces, while Cyra Cross, Carla Ramirez Ortiz, and Elysia Rudolphi contributed three aces each. Their precise and powerful serves kept the pressure on Garfield throughout the match.

Campbell’s offensive firepower was on full display, with Kendall Brunn leading the charge with 14 kills. MiLeena Williams and Cyra Cross each added seven kills to the team’s impressive tally. Their ability to find the right angles and exploit openings in the defense was key to securing crucial points

Campbell High School rekindled an old-school rivalry on the volleyball court and emerged victorious over Struthers in a thrilling four-set match. The final scores were 19-25, 25-16, 25-18, and 26-24, showcasing the intensity of the competition.

Both teams displayed their skills and determination throughout the match, making it an exciting contest for the fans. Campbell’s Angeliz Diaz and Elysia Rudolphi each contributed two aces, while the team’s offensive prowess was highlighted by Kendall Brunn’s 11 kills, Cyra Cross’s 10 kills, and Angeliz Diaz’s 7 kills.

MiLeena Williams led the blocking efforts with 6 blocks, followed by Kendall Brunn with 4 blocks and Carla Ramirez Ortiz with 3 blocks. Defensively, the team showcased their digging skills with Angeliz Diaz leading the way with 22 digs, closely followed by Cyra Cross with 20, Carla Ramirez Ortiz with 18, and Abigail Broz with 10.
