SALEM GIRLS BASKETBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP 1) WITH SARAH HAMILTON

SALEM OH- The time has come once again to get excited about high school basketball.  Salem is coming off of one of their best seasons in program history so there are plenty of reasons to get excited for Quaker fans. Last season the Quakers finished the year with a record of 20-5 (10-2). They went all the way to the Regional Final before falling short against Norton. Although they graduated 5 seniors, the Quakers have a lot of pieces to work with that should keep them one of the best girls programs in the area.

Head coach Sarah Hamilton is back for another year at the helm of the Quakers. She was kind enough to take her time and talk to YSN’s Ty Bartell to help preview the season.  She talks about the ride last year was, how this team will separate themselves from last season’s, and so much more. SALEM GIRLS BASKETBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP 1) WITH SARAH HAMILTON

SALEM OH- Last season, Salem came 4.4 seconds short of winning their first district championship in quite some time. Perry broke the dream by hitting a circus shot at the buzzer. The rallying call for this season is to be 4.4 seconds better. That loss sticks in the mind of head coach Sarah Hamilton, and this year might just avenge it. The Quakers return a handful of experienced, and talented players. They might end up being one of the area teams we are talking about in regionals. A lot of big name teams will be in front of them before then though. The Quakers have loaded up their schedule with high quality teams.

Coach Hamilton was able to hop on to Running Point this week to help us preview the Quakers season. She talks with Anthony Hartwig and Ty Bartell about the motivation of the season, what she’s most excited for, and much more. Episode 1 of Coach’s Corner with Sarah Hamilton is live.

HAMILTON WINS COLUMBIANA COUNTY GIRLS BASKETBALL COACH OF THE YEAR!

COLUMBIANA, OH – The Columbiana County girls basketball coach of the year votes are in! The coach of the year award for the 2020-2021 basketball season goes to Sarah Hamilton, the head coach of the Salem Lady Quakers. Hamilton led the Lady Quakers to a 16-6 record this season.

Congratulations Coach Hamilton and the Salem Lady Quakers on a great season from all of us at YSN!

SALEM GIRLS BASKETBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP 1) WITH SARAH HAMILTON

SALEM, OH- There is a lot of tradition around the halls of Salem High School in the girl’s sports programs, and especially when it comes to basketball, and with that said, The Lady Quakers are being led in 2020-2021 by one of the players that helped write those history books years ago.

Add to the challenges that already exist for a first-year coach, Salem goes through their third round of quarantining in this season alone.  With all that said, Hamilton and the Quakers have forged their way to a 7-2 record overall, and already have some significant wins that should put them in a solid place come tournament time.

We caught up with Coach Hamilton to discuss the state of Salem, as well as some of the unique circumstances she’s had to navigate from the front of the ship.
