BOARDMAN, OH- If you’re a golfer, you’ve spent the better part of your game trying to stay OUT of the bunker. However, coming this November, sports fans will be posting up for a spot to get in one. The Bunker, located in the Southern Park Mall in Boardman, will surely be the place to go for good times, and to keep your golf game on-point over the winter months in Northeast Ohio.
Owner Jonah Karzmer has spent the last two years creating reality out of his dream in his hometown. “We kind of had a vision of an indoor golf center and a combined restaurant with Bogey’s,” says Karzmer. The Bunker will be located where Jillian’s used to reside- on the backside of the mall, across from the new DeBartolo Commons area.
The facility includes a multitude of golf and sports simulators for the entire family to enjoy, and can be rented out hourly by customers a few days in advance, or by members as far as a month prior to your arrival. The space also includes a family-friendly area to dine and watch sports without having to pick up the clubs if you’re just looking for a bite to eat. The local favorite “Bogey’s” will be teaming up with The Bunker to produce “Double Bogey’s” and provide some hole-in-one service included with their stellar food to accompany it.
Leagues will also be formed by Golf Pro, Danny Phillips, and from his estimation will attract golfers of all different handicaps to enjoy the game. “It’s something the whole family can do, you don’t even need to own golf clubs,” says Phillips.
The Bunker is set to open in mid-November to the public.
