COWBOYS BALANCED OFFENSE DESTROYS CANFIELD

YOUNGSTOWN OH- The Chaney Cowboys came in to Wednesday’s district semifinal with something to prove. They took care of fifth seeded Canfield with focus and balance in a 69-35 win.

It was a Cowboy dominated game from the tip. Chaney led 28-15 at the half, and was clearly the better team on this night. But just to add an explanation to that statement, William Brown threw down a pair of monster dunks in the third quarter to really swing the momentum scale all the way to the Cowboys. They used that to outscore Canfield 40-21 in the second half.

Chaney was led by Travis Easterly and Clive Wilson both with 12 points. Quincy Jones was also in double figures with 11. Brown finished with 10.

Chaney moves on to face the winner of Thursday’s Struthers vs Ursuline game in the district championship on Saturday at Boardman High School. Start time is set for 4:00.
