AUSTINTOWN OH- Austintown Fitch dominated their double header with Massillon Washington on Saturday with two big wins 14-2 and 11-2.

In game 1, it was Bella Trofil who shined the brightest. Bella hit 3 home runs on the day and collected 8 RBI. McKenna Hogan also hit a HR and finished with 2 RBI. Lydia Spalding, Maddy Taylor, and Sophia Senediak each had 2 doubles in the game.

Spalding struck out 9 in 3 IP in the game, Kayla Schubert finished the game throwing 2 IP and striking out 3.

The power did not slow down in Game 2 for Fitch as Haley Tarr hit a grand slam and gathered 7 RBI. Sydney Shaffer also left the park for a RBI. Taylor added 2 more hits and a RBI for her day.

Schubert got the complete game win in game 2. She struck out 6 in her 7 innings of work and only gave up 5 hits.

CAMBRIDGE, OH- The Boardman 11U All-Star’s snatched the lead late in the game in a 6-4 victory over Washington Courthouse 11u on Saturday. Boardman trailed 4-3 in the bottom of the fifth inning when Anthony Groner doubled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring two runs.

Washington Courthouse 11u scored three runs in the first inning, but Boardman still managed to pull out the victory. Austin Brown and Cameron Morton each had RBIs in the frame.

Washington Courthouse 11u got on the board in the first inning when Brown doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs. In the bottom of the third inning, BCB tied things up at three when Groner doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

Groner also led the BCB to victory on the pitcher’s mound. He surrendered one run on four hits over four innings, striking out five and walking zero.

Lucas King led things off on the mound for Washington Courthouse. He surrendered two runs on one hit over two and two-thirds innings, striking out six. Morton threw two and a third innings in relief.

Collin Resetar started the game for Boardman. He surrendered three runs on two hits over two innings, striking out seven

BCB totaled six hits in the game. Groner and Ryan Smith had multiple hits for Boardman. Groner led the way with 4 RBI.

With the win, Boardman will return to action at 8PM on Tuesday. The game can be seen right here on YSN.
