ATWATER OH- On Wednesday night, the Vikings hosted Champion in a pivotal league match in front of an incredible crowd.
The team received two goals from Kaira English and an assist from Sydney Jackson and Kayla Turcsak. Grace Yarian had six saves in goal to aid the Viking defense, which was lights out all night. The team worked hard, played together, and fought till the clock struck zero.
The Vikings now lead the league and continue their chase on Monday night at Crestview. Thank you to all the incredible supporters who helped the girls all night long with their energy.

ATWATER OH- Kaira English is someone that most would describe throughout the school day as a kind-hearted and quiet student. One that you would gladly show the ropes and offer not only her knowledge, but friendship to a complete stranger. However, when she dawns The Vikings uniform and whether it is a field or court, when Kaira steps on it, she becomes “The Bully.”
Earning that nickname comes with a price, mostly paid at her opponents expense, but quite simply, it is living with a fearless mindset. English is an athlete that would be described as one whose competitive spirit is constantly filling her full of adrenaline, allowing her to reach that next level as an athlete constantly.
Already climbing the state’s all-time leaderboard in goals for soccer, English eclipsed the century mark, scoring her 100th goal in her career in just her junior season. With already 15 Goals on the season and a 4-0 record for The Lady Vikings, the sky’s the limit for Kaira English and Waterloo! As Kaira got the chance to stop by Running Point and talk about her journey through sports. ATWATER OH- On Monday night, the Vikings hosted Brookfield and came away victorious by a 10-0 margin.
Scoring goals for the Vikings were Olivia Boyle with 4, Kaira English 2, Rose Couts 1, Ronnie England 1, Kayle Turcsak 1, and Sydney Jackson 1. The team also got assists from Rose Couts with 3, Sydney Jackson 2, Kayla Turcsak 1, Ronnie England 1, and Chloe Guth 1. The Vikings were led in net by Grace Yarian with nine saves and Sophia Wood with 6.
The defense of Lillie Snyder, Carletta Henry, Lilly Foster, Gabby Gonzalez, Courtney Eisenbraun, and Kayla Turcsak kept the warrior attack off balance all night.

ATWATER OH- Springfield has gone on a roll since their week 4 loss to Lowellville. After starting 0-4 on the campaign, the Tigers have banned together to refocus and lock in. On Friday they traveled to Waterloo and got their third win in a row 41-14. It wasn’t a fast start for the Tigers, they only led 14-7 at the half. However, some adjustments in the locker room let the Tigers explode to 20 3rd quarter points.
Kolten Ruark finished the game with 2 touchdowns through the air and 46 yards. Ryan Carcelli reeked havoc on the Waterloo defense running for 177 yards and a touchdown. Dylan Sheely caught both of Ruark’s touchdowns as the Tigers leading receiver.
The Tigers are now 3-4 (3-1) and will continue to go through the MVAC on Friday as they travel to Western Reserve. Waterloo is also 3-4 on the season and they’ll stay home in Week 8 hosting Jackson Milton.

ATWATER OH- Springfield is slowly but surely gathering momentum as the session nears its end. They kept their record above .500 on Thursday night as they traveled to Waterloo and swept the Vikings. (25-15 25-11 25-14)
Jameka Brungard got in to double figures with kills and led the Tigers with 10. Baelyn Brungard was next on the slate finishing with 7 kills. She also set up the offense well with 16 assists. Madi Lesnak finished with 5 kills, 3 blocks, 3 aces, and a couple of digs as well. Sami McKim and Jacey Mullen both led the defense with 16 digs apiece.
Springfield will take their momentum on the road on Saturday as they travel to Mooney to take on the Cardinals. Varsity first serve is set for 12:00.
ATWATER OH- Waterloo completed their busy week with their third game in the last seven days on Thursday. They hosted a good Garfield team and picked up the 4-1 win.
Rose Couts impressed everyone with a hat trick for the Vikings. The Vikings also got a goal from Olivia Boyle. Kaira English, Kayla Thompson, and Boyle all collected assists as well as Sydney Jackson. Sophia Wood was a walk at the goal with 4 saves.
The Vikings return to action on Monday as they stay in MVAC play hosting Brookfield. Kickoff is set for 5:00. It will also be senior night for the Vikings, so make sure to show up early and celebrate the Viking seniors.

NEW MIDDLETOWN OH- The Vikings traveled to New Middletown on Wednesday for a conference match against Springfield. After a scoreless first half the game came alive in the second half as the Vikings found the back of the net five times en route to a 5-1 victory.
Goal scorers for the Vikings were Rose Counts, Olivia Boyle, and Kayla Thompson who each had goal. Kaira English had two goals and an assist, while Mya Bennett and Sydney Jackson also had assists for the Vikings. The team played a solid match and received contributions form the entire roster.
The Vikings are in action at home tomorrow in another important league match that begins at 5 pm. Please come out and support the Vikings!!

MCDONALD OH- McDonald kept pushing their way through the MVAC Scarlett conference on Tuesday as they dominated Waterloo in a straight set victory. (25-8 25-9 25-6)
Gianna Constantino led the offense with 14 kills. It was a balanced offense for the Blue Devils, as Maria Rasile was also in double figures with 13 kills. Constantino and Rasike both also finished with double doubles with 16 assists for Constantino and 13 assists for Rasile. Kayla Heico led the defense with 12 digs in the back row.
McDonald will stay at home on Thursday as they host Sebring. Waterloo will return home on Thursday to host Springfield.

The team was led in scoring by Kaira English with five goals, Rose Couts with three goals, and Abby Mazur with her first goal of the season. Sydney Jackson contributed with three assists, Olivia Boyle had two assists, and Bayley English had one assist. Sophia Wood and Grace Yarian kept Newton Falls scoreless with a save a piece in the net.
The Vikings got great defensive work from Lilly Foster, Lillie Snyder, Gabby Gonzalez, Kayla Thompson, Courtney Eisenbraun, and Carletta Henry. The victory was a total team effort! Lowellville OH- Last week Vinny Ballone passed for nine touchdowns, this week he added five more in the first half but was it enough to secure a victory against the MVAC Scarlet rival Waterloo Vikings?
The first half saw it mostly on the side of Lowellville with a few key plays by Waterloo that kept it close. The first possession Ballone threw a deep ball finding Bunofsky down the field for a 40-yard pickup. Two plays later and he connects with him again from six-yards making it 6-0.
The Rockets would get the ball back after a Matthew Lucio surprise onside kick which was recovered by Michael Ballone. That then led to a score in which Ballone connected with Braylen Dabney, making it 14-0. Waterloo did not go away however as the running attack for Mike Deveis Vikings as Hakin gave the ball on a QB choice play to Bobby Haruoff who went 28-yards making it 14-6.
Ballone would connect once again this time finding Lucido in the endzone making it 22-6 after another conversion and then found Bunofsky a couple possessions later making it 28-6. Quarterback Jayden Hakin scored once again off a QB run making it 28-12, but the Vikings were unable to hang on after as the Rockets pulled away in the second half after a Geno Perry touchdown making the final score 50-26.

Lowellville is now 6-0 on the season, their best start since the 2002 season where they finished the regular season undefeated. The Rockets will host the Sebring McKinley Trojans (0-6) next Friday. Waterloo (3-3) will host a hot Springfield Tigers team that got back to back victories (2-4).
