WEST BRANCH SWEEPS RIVAL ON THE ROAD

SALEM, OH- The West Branch Warriors and the Salem Quakers matched up for the second time this season. The Warriors and the Quakers played three competitive sets, but West Branch came away with victories in all three for a clean sweep.

Claire Brunner led the way for the Warriors with 12 total points and 5 serving aces. Right behind her was middle blocker Mikalyn Fitts who added eight kills and outside hitter Adele Peters who contributed 7 kills.

Final Set Results:

Set 1: 25-20 WB

Set 2: 25-21 WB

Set 3: 25-23 WB

The Warriors are now 14-2 overall and improve to 8-2 in EBC play. The Quakers are now 3-13, and will play Boardman at home on Monday. The Warriors will have a tough non-conference match on Monday at home.

SALEM GETS THEIR THIRD STRAIGHT SWEEP

BELOIT OH- The Quakers continue to roll with this week  a 5-0 win over West Branch. Their third consecutive sweep in as many days.

Tyler Parker got a strong win at #1 singles, and Sophie Faulenbach won at #3 singles. The doubles teams of Christian Chappell and Nick French and Drake Harkleroad and Luke DeLand won handily.

The best match of the night came at #2 singles, where Zach Parker battled back after losing a tough first set 6-7 (5-7) to win 6-4, 6-0.

The Quakers are now 5-1 and will host East Palestine on Monday.

RAIDERS SPLIT SEASON OPENING TRI MATCH

RAVENA OH- South Range opened the season on Saturday morning as part of a tri-match with West Branch and Southeast. The Raiders cruised to a win over Southeast, but was swept by West Branch.

In the first game against the Pirates the Raiders win in 2 set. (25-7 25-15). Maria Primavera led the Raiders offense finishing with 6 kills. She also got herself 3 digs. Jamie Ferren set up 10 assists. Ally Sauerwein contributed 5 kills.

In game 2, South Range dropped the match to West Branch in straight (sets 18-25 22-25). Maria Primavera, and Hannah Heikkinen both led the offense. Reagan Irons played well in the back row as she collected 8 digs.

South Range will have their home opener on Monday as they host Boardman.
