WHITING MAKES A OPENING GAME STATEMENT

STRUTHERS, OHIO- Game one of the 18U playoff belonged to the Whiting Roll-Offs as they took down Knightline 12-2 at Bob Cene Park on Sunday.

Nick Parrotto led the Roll-Offs at the plate as he went  for a perfect day going 2 for 2 and scored two runs. He also notched a pair of RBI.  Cason Holland made the most of his 1-3 day as he collected 3 RBI.  Corbin Sevcik drove in a pair of runs going 1-2.

Andrew Brown took the loss for Knightline on the mound as he allowed five runs on three hits with one strikeout. Jack Ray was the winning pitcher on the hill as he allowed two runs on four hits with five strikeouts.

WHITING RALLIES FOR SERIES OPENING WIN

STRUTHERS, OHIO- In round one of the 16U playoffs on Friday night, The Whiting Roll-Offs came out on top against Creekside Fitness 6-1 at Bob Cene Park.

Whiting was led at the plate by Davin Friedman, who went 4 for 4, Ben Yeckel, who went 3 for 3, and Chase Mitcheltree, who went 2 for 4. Dane Barber had a good performance at the plate in the losing effort for Creekside as he went 2 for 3. Zach Mclean was the losing pitcher of the evening.

Through four innings pitched, Mclean allowed four runs on nine hits. He sat down eight batters. Ryan Rebholz picked up the win on the hill as he pitched a complete game allowing one run on four hits with four strikeouts.

SPARKS FLY FOR WHITING

STRUTHERS, OHIO- On a beautiful 4th of July day at Bob Cene Park, the Whiting Roll-Offs picked up the 5-0 win over Knightline.

Mike Delduca led things at the plate for Whiting as he went 3 for 3 and scored one run. Nate Freeland led Knightline at the plate in the losing effort going 1 for 2.

Jack Ray picked up the win on the hill as he allowed four hits and no runs with an amazing twelve strikeout performance. 

WHITING HANDS THE ASTRO FALCONS THEIR FIRST LOSS

STRUTHERS OH- In a summer that has seen the Astro Falcons run away with the standings so far, it almost seemed like they were unbeatable.  Whiting came into Sunday with different ideas though as they strutted their way to a 6-5 win ending the Falcons undefeated season.

Aidan Leiendecker led the Whiting offense on the day going 1-2 with a RBI and a run scored.  Nick Parrotto also knocked in a pair of RBI on a 1-3 day. He also drew a walk.  Caison Holland was a thorn in the Astro Falcons’ side going 3-4 with a RBI.

Jack Ray got the start on the mound for Whiting, and pitched wel. He lasted 6 innings and only gave up 2 earned runs on 5 hits.  He struck out 10 batters on the way to the win.

Joey Perry had 2 RBI for the Astro Falcons as he went 1-4.  John Chalus had multiple hits going 2-3 with a run scored and a RBI.  Dawson Wallace managed a 1-3 effort and crossed the plate once. He also drove in a run.

WHITING SHINES THROUGH

STRUTHERS, OHIO- The Whiting Roll-Offs got the best out of the Prospects as they defeated them 11-5 at Bob Cene park on Friday in 18U action.

In the losing effort, the Prospects were led by Jacob Gugliotta, who went 2 for 3 and by Ethan Powell, who went 2 for 4 at the plate.

The Roll-Offs were led by Sam Patton, who went 2 for 3 and by Treyton Ross, who went 2 for 2 at the plate. The winning pitcher of the game was Joey Pugh, who allowed zero runs on two hits with two strikeouts.

Landon Brunstetter was the losing pitcher as he allowed three runs on one hit with two strikeouts.

WHITING WHIPS AROUND THE BASES

STRUTHERS, OHIO- The Whiting Roll-Offs snuck away with a close 8-5 win over Athletix Tuesday evening at Bob Cene Park.

The Roll-Offs were led by Nickolas Heakins, who went 2 for 3 and by Christian Anterock, who went 2 for 4 at the plate. Noah Adamson led Athletix in the losing effort as he went 2 for 3 at the plate.

The losing pitcher of the evening was Dylan Simpson, who allowed five runs on two hits. Daniel DePaolo was the winning pitcher of the evening as he allowed four runs on seven hits with five strikeouts. 

WHITING BRINGS THE POWER

STRUTHERS, OHIO- The Whiting Roll-Offs score late to top Ballistic Baseball 10-3 this evening at Bob Cene Park.

Whiting was led by Treyton Ross, who went 2 for 3 and by Blake Scott, who went 2 for 4. Demarian Young was the winning pitcher on the mound this evening as he allowed one run on two hits with three strikeouts.

Tyler Wright went 2 for 3 at the plate for Ballistic in the losing effort as Trevor Ruscoe took the loss on the mound allowing two runs on two hits with one strikeout. 

WHITING WASHES OUT DURA EDGE

STRUTHERS, OHIO- The Whiting Roll-Offs had a solid outing on the diamond today at Bob Cene Park as they cruised to a 10-0 win over Dura Edge.

At the plate the Roll-Offs were led by Ben Miller, Nick Parrotto, and Caison Holland as they all had two hits.

Jack Ray was the winning pitcher of the day as he allowed only one hit and sat down nine batters at the plate through five innings of work. 

WHITING WIPES OUT THE TIDE

STRUTHERS OH- Whiting Roll-Offs left absolutely no doubt in anyone’s mind who the better team was on Saturday. They blasted their way to a 14-2 win over the Ohio Tide.

Corbin Sevcik was a problem at the plate as he went 3-3 with a pair of walks drawn, 3 runs scored, and 2 RBI.  Aidan Leiendecker continued his strong tournament with a 3-5 day knocking in 3 RBI, and scoring a run himself.  Nick Parrotto went 2-3 with a walk, 2 runs scored, and 3 RBI.  Ethan Feezle joined the RBI party on a 1-4 day with 1 run scored.

Parrotto pitched his way to a victory as well. He went 6 innings and gave up 0 earned runs on 5 hits.  He struck out 5 and walked none.

WHITING WINS SECOND IN A ROW

STRUTHERS OH- After coming back for a victory in their first game of the day, Whiting Roll-Offs carried that momentum into their next one. Whiting’s offense had enough gas to overpower FTB Mid Atlantic 10-7.

Like he has so many times this summer, Aidan Leiendecker came up big for Whiting. He went 1-4 with 2 runs scored and 4 RBI.  Ethan Feezle put together multiple hits going 2-4 with a RBI.  Nate Thomas went 1-3 with a walk, and a RBI.  Corbin Sevcik was perfect at the plate going 2-2 with 2 runs scored, and 2 walks.  Kallen Durbin also went without being retired going 2-2 with a walk, and 2 runs scored.

Brady Mayo took the win for Whiting on the bump. He went 2 innings and gave up 0 runs on 1 hit.
