KNIGHTLINE SNEAKS PAST WHITING

STRUTHERS OH- Pitching was at gold star material on Saturday between Knightline and Whiting Roll-Offs.  Knightline was able to narrowly escape the pitcher’s duel with a 2-1 win.

Madden Boehm went 1-3 with a run scored and a RBI to be a bright spot in Knightline’s offense.  Gavin Shrum was 0-2 but did collect his team’s 2nd RBI.  Ryan Hooper went 1-3 with a run scored.

Jake Papagallo shined on the mound for Knightline. He went 6.2 innings and gave up just 1 run on 5 hits. He struck out 6.

Tyler Kamerer had multiple hits for the struggling offense of Whiting. He went 2-3. Jake Vitale went 1-2 with a walk.  Nick Osborne walked, and scored a run.  Zach Herb collected the lone RBI for Whiting.

Marc Conti was the tough luck loser for Whiting pitching well on the mound. He went 7 innings giving up 1 earned run on 4 hits. He struck out 4.

AVALANCHE COMES THROUGH LATE TO WIN

STRUTHERS OH-  A run a piece in the 6th and 7th innings were enough to grab Avalanche a tight 3-2 win over Whiting Roll-Offs.

Peyton Koss compiled multiple hits for Avalanche going 2-4 with a RBI.  Nolan Reichard went 1-3 with a run scored and a RBI. Richie Peterson went 1-2 with a walk and a RBI.  Whiting’s pitching couldn’t retire Reese Henderson as he went 1-1 with 2 walks, and a run scored.

Jake Mattocks earned the win on the hill for Avalanche. He threw 6 innings and gave up 2 runs on 5 hits.  He struck out 3 Whiting hitters.

Ben Miller went 1-3 with a run scored, and a RBI.  Mitch Lang also went 1-3 with a RBI.  Nick Parrotto went 1-3 with a run scored.

Grant Melder was charged with the loss despite pitching well. He threw 6 innings giving up 2 runs on 5 hits.  He struck out 10.

 

LATE SCORE LIFTS WHITING TO VICTORY

STRUTHERS OH- With the score tied at 3-3 in the 6th inning Whiting Roll Offs scored a run in the 6th to come out on top of the Avalanche 4-3.

Tyler Kamerer had a perfect day on offense for Whiting. He went 4-4 with 2 RBI.  Marc Conti went 1-3 on the day with another RBI.  He also scored a run. Zac Herb went 1-3 with a run scored. Benny Dottle mirrored those numbers and added a walk.

 

Herb secured the win on the mound for Whiting. He pitched a complete game giving up 3 runs on 6 hits.  He struck out 8 batters.

Rufus Byler was a bright spot for the Avalanche offense. He went 1-2 with a RBI.  Landin Esposito and Logan Ayres both went 1-3 on the night. Isaac Criss went 1-3 as well, and he also scored a run.

Ayres was charged with the loss on the hill. He went 3 innings and gave up 3 runs on 5 hits.

WHITING WRAPS UP KNIGHTLINE

STRUTHERS OH- Whiting Roll-Offs had a pretty smooth Thursday night in 16U Class B action.  They strolled to a massive 17-1 victory over Knightline.

Mitch Lang spearheaded the offensive onslaught for Whiting going 3-4 with 1 run scored and 3 RBI.  Ben Miller was another big contributor going 2-3 with a walk, 3 runs scored, and 2 RBI. Corbin Sevcik went without being retired on the night. He went 2-2 with 2 walks and a run scored. He knocked in 2 RBI.  Jake Patterson went 2-4 with 3 runs scored and 2 RBI.

Braeden D’Angelo pitched his way to a win. He threw 3.2 innings and gave up 1 run on 6 hits.  He struck out 5. Whiting’s pitching staff didn’t walk a single hitter.

Andrew McRoberts had a perfect day at the plate for Knightline. He went 2-2.  Tyler Capan didn’t record a hit, but did get his team’s only RBI.  Santino Cambotti scored the lone run. Aiden Thompson went 1-2 on the day.

Michael Condoleon was given the loss on the bump for Knightline. He threw 2.1 innings and gave up 7 earned runs on 7 hits. He struck out 1.

WHITING PUTS EAGLE WEAR IN A WHIRLWIND

STRUTHERS OH- Whiting blustered their bats on Wednesday to give Eagle Wear toms of problems. They flexed their muscles in a 8-1 win scoring 6 runs in the 2nd inning.

Gabe Yanssens was the big bat in Whiting’s lineup. He went 2-2 on the night with a walk, a run scored, and a RBI.  Logan Andreyko managed one hit, but it was a big one as he knocked in 3 RBI. He also scored a run. Ethan Bintrum went 1-2 with a run scored and a RBI.

 

Jake Vitale was a vital piece to Whiting’s success. He threw 6 innings on the mound and gave up just 1 run on 5 hits.  He struck out 6.

Jack Pawlowicz was a big plus for the Eagle Wear offense going 3-3 on the night.  Cole Grable went 1-2 with a RBI, and a walk.  Zach Hryb went 1-2 on the day.

Josh Ickes was the losing pitcher on the night.  He went 2 innings pitched. He only gave up 2 earned runs (7 runs total) on 8 hits.  He struck out a pair.

CREEKSIDE STRONG ARMS WHITING

STRUTHERS OH- Class B action resumed this week, and Creekside hit the ground running blowing out Whiting Roll-Offs 8-0.

Payton Zupko was very productive at the plate for Creekside going 1-4 with a run scored and 2 RBI. Alex Nicholson also knocked in a pair of RBI. Paul Connelly went 2-3 with 3 runs scored him and Jack Davis were  the only Creekside hitter to grab multiple hits, Davis went 2-5.

Nicholson got the win on the mound for Creekside going 5 innings giving up 0 runs on 2 hits. He struck out a pair.

Braden Zegler went 1-2 for the struggling Whiting offense. Nate Thomas went 1-3, and so did Grant Melder.  Braeden D’Angelo walked twice in 3 at bats.

Shawn Miller was pegged with the loss for Whiting. He went 2 innings giving up 5 runs on 4 hits. 3 of those runs were earned. Miller struck out 3.

PROSPECTS PUT WHITING OUT TO DRY

STRUTHERS OH- Prospects were able to make some waves on Wednesday night in 18U Class B action. They did away with Whiting Roll-Offs 7-2.

The Prospects bats were on a tear. Michael Galterio went 2-3 with a walk, a run scored, and a RBI. Tino Multari went 1-3 with a RBI. Brandon Popio went 2-4 with 2 runs scored.

Austen Price pitched well on the mound for Prospects. He went 5 innings giving up 2 runs on 5 hits. He struck out 7 and walked 4.

Matt Graeber had a nice day for Whiting despite their troubles. He went 2-3 with 2 RBI.  Benny Dottle went 1-3 with a walk.

Tim Lewis picked up the loss for Whiting. He gave up 5 runs on 5 hits in 5 innings pitched. He struck out 4 and walked 6.

WHITING WIPES OUT DURA EDGE

STRUTHERS OH- Whiting got into the win column on Tuesday night’s Class B action in the 16IU division with a solid 7-3 win over Dura Edge.

Nick Perrotto was a big contributor to Whiting’s offense going 2-3 with 3 RBI. Corbin Sevcik went 1-2 with 2 RBI to add to the Whiting production. Nathan Craig went 1-2 with 2 runs scored.

Mitch Lang was credited with the win on the mound. He threw 1 inning and gave up 1 run on 2 hits. He struck out 3.

Marco Massucci had a good day for Dura Edge. He went 1-2 with a walk and a run scored. He also punched in a RBI. Ryan Telesz went 1-4 with a RBI. Nick Leasure went 1-2 with 2 walks and a run scored.

Telesz picked up the loss for Dura Edge. He pitched 1 inning and gave up 3 runs on 1 hit.

PIRONE NO HITS WHITING

STRUTHERS OH- Brian Pirone was running on all cylinders on Monday as he tossed a no hitter against Whiting Roll-Offs. The Astro Falcons gave him plenty of run support as well as they won 5-0.

Pirone also had a fantastic day at the plate going 2-2 with 2 runs scored. He knocked in a RBI as well. Mike Carpenter went 1-2 with a RBI. Joe Roth went 1-3 with a RBI.

Pirone threw 7 innings of no hit ball. He struck out 11 and walked 4. He threw a total of 106 pitches.

Nick Vitale got on base twice for Whiting, he walked twice. Nick Osborne, and Luke Lamitina also walked once each.

Jake Vitale was pinned with the loss for Whiting. He went 5 innings giving up 5 runs on 4 hits. He struck out 6 and walked 3.

FALCONS BRING THE THUNDER

STRUTHERS OH- The Astro Falcon offense was rocking on Sunday against Whiting Roll-Offs. The bats were as hot as the temperatures outside, the Falcons cruised to a 17-7 victory.

There was plenty of good bats for the Falcons on Sunday, but Dom Cubellis really stood out going 3-4 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI. Drew Kaschak went 2-2 with 3 runs scored 2 walks and a RBI. Anthony Triveri went 2-4 with a RBI. Luca Ricchiuti went 1-2 with 2 runs scored a walk, and 2 RBI.

Jay Campbell took the win on the mound for the Falcons. He last 2.1 IP giving up 7 ER on 5 H. He struck out a pair and walked 5.

Ben Herman was very productive at the plate for Whiting. He went 1-2 with a walk and a runs scored, and he knocked in 3 RBI. Mitch Lang also went 1-2 with a walk and a run scored. He drove in a pair. Owen Keister went 2-3 with 2 runs scored.

Keister was hit with the loss on the hill for Whiting. He threw 1.2 innings and gave up 5 runs on 5 hits. He struck out a batter and walked 3.
