STACIE GERBERRY

TALENT THAT IS TO DYE FOR

MINERAL RIDGE OH-  Kelcee Dye’s road back to softball wasn’t easy. After a strong freshman year that had folks around Mineral Ridge buzzing, a tough injury kept her sidelined her entire sophomore season. It was a blow not just to Kelcee, but to a Rams squad that missed her presence behind the dish. There were moments where she wasn’t sure if she’d ever return to the game—but in the end, the pull of her teammates, the love of the sport, and that catcher’s fire in her chest brought her back. And Ridge couldn’t be happier to see No. 7 back where she belongs—behind the plate and leading the charge.

Now a junior, Kelcee’s become one of the sharpest catchers in the area. Her softball IQ is through the roof. If she was ever asked to call her own game pitch-by-pitch, she’d be more than ready. She reads hitters like a book, handles her pitchers like a pro, and knows how to control the tempo from the squat. She’s not just a glove—she’s a general.

If you’ve seen the Rams play this year, odds are you’ve heard Kelcee before you’ve seen her. Whether she’s barking out instructions from behind the plate or lighting up the dugout with pure energy, she’s the loudest voice in the yard. That energy is contagious, and her teammates feed off it. She’s the kind of player who keeps everyone locked in—and makes the game fun while doing it.

Stat-wise? She’s been flat-out raking. Kelcee leads the Rams with a .469 batting average, has launched 3 home runs, and driven in 21 runs—second-most on the squad. She’s doing damage every time she steps in the box, and when she’s not hitting, she’s making things happen behind the scenes with her leadership and game sense.

Put all that together—Kelcee’s toughness, her voice, her high motor, and her straight-up skill—and you’ve got the complete package. Mineral Ridge has something special with Kelcee Dye back in the fold, and the rest of the league knows it.
