TAYLOR’S HEROICS ADVANCE FITCH TO CHAMPIONSHIP

AUSTINTOWN OH-

Austintown-Fitch took the lead late in the game in a 4-2 victory over Chardon on Monday. The game was tied at two with the Falcons batting in the bottom of the fifth when Maddy Taylor homered on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

Austintown-Fitch fired up the offense in the first inning, when Taylor’s sac fly scored one run.

Lydia Spalding pitched Austintown-Fitch. The fireballer lasted seven innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out 11 and walking zero.

Kayla Noerr took the loss for Chardon. Noerr surrendered four runs on three hits over six innings, striking out 13.

The Falcons smacked one home run on the day. Taylor put one out in the fifth inning.

Ayla Ray, Spalding, and Taylor each collected one hit to lead the Falcons.
