THE BIG TUNA

NILES OH- Niles has a special story looming in their baseball program. If you haven’t heard about senior Anthony Fisher, you better do your research. Just this week, Fisher made his first start of his high school career on the mound, and he threw a no hitter! You can’t write that in a Hollywood script and make it more believable.

Fisher is no stranger to adversity. As a senior in high school, he has already had to go through Tommy John surgery. His recovery took time. However, Fisher never lost his patience and drive to get back to where he wanted to be. In fact, his advice for anyone that has to go through things similar to him was “take your time.” That’s hard for a young man to understand. In a world that is fascinated with instant gratification, Fisher bided his time, and it paid off in major ways.

His teammates call him “Big Tuna” but after a first career no hitter, they may have change that to “Big Time Tuna.”

Fisher made the decision to continue his academic and athletic career at Mount Union. Playing in college is just another goal that Fisher can check off his box. What makes him great, is once he checks those boxes he adds more goals to his list. Keep an eye out on what the future will hold for this fish turned Dragon, and soon to be Purple Raider.

Fisher was able to jump on YSN’s Running Point to talk to the guys about his journey to this point. He talked with Ty Bartell, and Anthony Hartwig about going through adversity, how that has helped him lead the team, and so much more. Don’t miss out on the latest Niles baseball player profile exclusively on YSN.
