THE HUGHES LEGACY IS SECURE

BERLIN CENTER OH- Any long time volleyball fan knows the name Hughes. It has been a trademark of Youngstown volleyball all decade, as three separate sisters have had incredible high school careers at Western Reserve. The youngest of the three Alyvia has done her part to keep the legacy strong, but she has also made sure to make her own imprint on the game, and not get caught in the shadows of her sister.

Alyvia is going into her junior season, and it honestly feels like she’s a senior with how long she’s been dominating. She fills the stat sheet every night. What makes her stand out though, is that not only is she talented, but she goes about everything the right way. We have asked many players from other teams in the area players that they’d want to play with, and Alyvia is one of the top answers. She definitely has the respect of her piers.

Hughes took the time to come on to YSN’s Running Point this week to talk about her step into being an upperclassmen. She talks with Anthony Hartwig, and DJ Yokley about the legacy of her family, how she has separated herself from the rest, and much more. Don’t miss the latest Western Reserve Volleyball player profile exclusively on YSN.
