THE RIFFLE EFFECT

According to John Maxwell, leadership is influence and influence is leadership.

The argument will always remain whether leaders are born or made, and here in the Valley-things are no different.  In Crestview, the changing of the guard came last year with a new coaching staff, new strategies, and new players.

The Rebels faced adversity and fought through it, but some did not make it through the campaign.

One of those was Jude Riffle.  Riffle left the team for personal reasons, and in the time between last season and the current, chose to lead by example.  Jude was able to past where it belongs, overcome judgment, and begin righting the ship from the front.

The lone senior this year, he agreed to change positions to help the team where he could most.  Not only did Jude come back to the basketball team, but he came back to lead them.  Jude was elected by his teammates and coaches to be Captain.

They say that a ripple effect is a situation in which, like ripples expanding across the water when an object is dropped into it, an effect from an initial state can be followed outwards incrementally.

Jude Riffle has created a ripple effect in Crestview, and one that all levels of the program will learn and succeed from.  YSN’s DJ Yokley sat down with the Rebel Captain for this week’s Crestview Profile: THE RIFFLE EFFECT.
