THE ‘VILLE BLANKS BOARDMAN ON THE ROAD

BOARDMAN, OH- The Louisville Leopards defeated Boardman 3-0 on Thursday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Zach Root struck out Grayson Eicher to finish off the game.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Louisville pitchers struck out four, while Boardman pitchers sat down seven.

One bright spot for Boardman was a perfect day at the dish by Charlie Young.

Connor Morley was the winning pitcher for the Leopards. The righty allowed three hits and zero runs over six and two-thirds innings, striking out three. Zach Root threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Adam Konnerth was on the pitcher’s mound for Boardman. The bulldog surrendered one run on two hits over four innings, striking out four. Kevin Pekkaren and Dylan Barrett entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two and two-thirds innings and one-third of an inning respectively.

Morley led Louisville Varsity Leopards with two hits in three at-bats.

Young went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Boardman in hits. Boardman was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error.
