THIS TIGER IS MORE THAN GOOD, SHE’S GREAT

SPRINGFIELD OH- There are some players that through no fault of their own go under the radar during the season. It could be said that in the landscape of local softball, Springfield’s Haleigh McCalla is under the radar. Well that ends now, as we shine a light on this fantastic duel threat from the circle to the batters box.

McCalla thrives on completion. She might actually do better thinking that she is being underestimated by people. The drive to prove people wrong can be might powerful. A quick look at McCalla’s work in the circle will show you that she moves her pitches as good as anyone. When you add that to the fact that she can bring above average velocity to the table, there’s no wonder why she’s causing fits for opposing teams.

McCalla is currently sitting on a 4-2 record in the circle with an ERA under 3 at 2.92.  In 38.1 innings she has struck out 78 batters. In case you don’t feel like doing the math, that’s an average of just over 2 strike outs per inning. When you add that to the fact that she’s hitting .429 with a HR to her record, it’s safe to say the numbers speak for themselves.

McCalla found some time to hop on to YSN’s Running Point and talk to Anthony Hartwig and Ty Bartell. They chat about the stops and start of this crazy weather filled season, what makes her proud to be a Tiger, and much more.
