TIGERS AND VIKINGS END THRILLER IN A TIE

NEW MIDDLETOWNN OH- Springfield fell behind early to Waterloo Wednesday night when Mackenzie Webb scored for the Vikings less than one minute into the game. Kaira English and Olivia Boyle each put in a goal before the Tiger’s Gracie Venturella put one on the scoreboard making it 3-1 in favor of the Vikings at the half. English added another in the second half giving Waterloo a 4-1 advantage. Springfield finished with a flurry a break aways and shots as Sami Shafer, Brionna Holt, and Kaila LaMorticella each scored late to tie the game at four a piece. Venturella for the tigers and English for the Vikings each added an assist.

Caitlin Cappelli had 4 saves for Springfield and Grace Yarian had 10 for Waterloo.

Springfield returns to action Saturday as they travel to United. Waterloo hosts Brookfield on Wednesday September 8th.
