TIGERS EARN STRIPES AGAINST CLIPPERS IN 2-1 WIN

On what turned out to be a cool but sunny Thursday afternoon in Columbiana the Clippers (1-3) fell in a pitchers duel to the Springfield Tigers (2-0) by a 2-1 score.

Evan Kenneally (0-1) was the hard-luck loser on the afternoon.  Kenneally went five strong innings giving up 2 runs (1 earned) on 7 hits while striking out 1 and not walking a batter.  Zach Fahs pitched two perfect frames to finish the game for the Clippers.

Offensively, Columbiana was held to two hits.  Zach Fahs tied up the game with an RBI single in the fourth scoring Chase Franken and Hunter Zentner kept his early season hit-streak going with a single in the fifth inning.

Tomorrow the Clippers will host Western Reserve at Legion Field in a non-conference contest.  First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 PM.
