TIGERS FALTER AGAINST FIELD
JEFFERSON OH- Howland’s run in the district semifinals hit a snag as they dropped the game to Field 7-3 on a challenging Tuesday at Jefferson. Right off the bat, Brooke Tatar gave Howland an early lead with a scoring double.
Alyssa Massucci later tied things up with a clutch single in the fourth, making it anyone’s game. Unfortunately for Howland, they couldn’t maintain momentum. Tatar, pulling double duty in the circle, gave up seven runs on 11 hits across six innings.
At the plate, Massucci and Madison Schmitz made noise with two hits apiece, with Massucci knocking in two runs from the top of the order. The team showed discipline too, earning six walks thanks to the efforts of Calleigh Luman, Brianna Deeter, and Maya Kubancsek, who each walked twice.
With this game, Howland caps off their season with a solid 13-8 record, closing out a year of strong performances.
