TIGERS HUNT DOWN JACKSON MILTON

NORTH JACKSON, OHIO- The Springfield Tigers sailed to an easy victory over Jackson-Milton 9-2 on Wednesday. The Tigers got things started in the first inning when Haleigh McCalla doubled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.

Springfield then notched three runs in the seventh inning when Madi Lesnak had an RBI home run in the inning to lead the run scoring.

McCalla led the Tigers to victory in the pitcher’s circle as she went seven innings, allowing two runs on five hits and striking out 16. Paige Grope went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Jackson-Milton in hits.

Macayle Thornhill took the loss for Jackson-Milton as the pitcher went six and two-thirds innings, allowing nine runs on ten hits and striking out two.

Jackson-Milton will play Mineral Ridge on Thursday while Springfield will play Sebring on Thursday.
