TIGERS SEE NOTHING BUT DAYLIGHT

STRUTHERS OH-  Howland came out swinging Tuesday and never took their foot off the gas, rolling past Struthers 15-5 in six innings.

The Tigers wasted no time, putting up three in the top of the first. Then came the second—and that’s when the wheels really came off for Struthers. Howland exploded for eight runs in the frame, stringing together six hits, including a pair of RBI singles from Bode Biggin and Dominic Santee. Richie Ansel knocked in two with a base hit, and by the time a wild pitch and passed ball added to the damage, it was 11-0 before Struthers could blink.

Steven Bubon got the nod for Howland and held things down through three shutout innings, allowing just five hits. Biggin came in for relief and was sharp, striking out seven while giving up just one run over nearly four frames.

At the plate, Howland racked up 13 hits. Luca Fronzaglio was perfect in the leadoff spot, going 3-for-3. Santee and Ansel each knocked in three, while Biggin, Elliot Gebhardt, and Brayden Kovarik also came through with multi-hit days.

Struthers didn’t go quietly, collecting 12 hits of their own. Michael Scavnicky drove in two and finished 2-for-4. Chizmar, Phil Robbins, Jackson West, and Jordan Becker all had two hits apiece, but the early hole was too deep to climb out of. Howland heads to Wilmington next with the bats hot and the momentum rolling.
