TIGERS SHARPEN TEETH TO BEAT URSULINE

Ursuline scored three runs in the second inning, but Springfield still won 10-3 on Tuesday. Ursuline batters contributing to the big inning included Brady Shannon and Jonah Kirchner, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Springfield got on the board in the first inning when an error scored one run.

Ursuline knotted the game up at three in the bottom of the second inning. Kirchner grounded out, scoring one run.

The Tigers pulled away for good with one run in the third inning. In the third Ethan Mannion singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Springfield scored three runs in the seventh inning. Mannion and Nate LaBoy all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Sean Gardner was the winning pitcher for the Tigers. The fireballer lasted two and a third innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while walking one. Alex Rothwell threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Kirchner was on the mound for the Irish. Kirchner went five innings, allowing six runs on seven hits, striking out four and walking zero. Jaxson Gruber threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Mitchell Seymour started the game for Springfield. The righthander went one and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs on two hits and striking out four

The Tigers racked up 11 hits. Aaron Groner, Rothwell, Seymour, and LaBoy all managed multiple hits. LaBoy, Seymour, Rothwell, and Groner each collected two hits to lead.

Shannon went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Ursuline in hits.
