TIGERS TAKE A WIN BACK TO THE JUNGLE

SALEM, OHIO- The Salem Varsity Quakers watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 3-2 loss to Howland on Thursday as the Howland took the lead on a single in the second inning to stay in front for good.

The Tigers tallied seven hits on the day as Jak Kenney and Brode Biggin all managed multiple hits for Howland that started in the second inning, when Jak Kenney singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

Brendan Ray earned the victory on the hill for Howland as The bulldog surrendered two runs on four hits over seven innings, striking out 11. Cyle Burt led the Quakers with two hits in three at bats as Lance Bailey was on the pitcher’s mound for the as the hurler surrendered three runs on seven hits over seven innings, striking out three.


Howland will look to stay strong against Girard on Friday, while Salem will try and bounce back against Warren JFK on Friday.
