TOMKO HAS A DAY AGAINST JEFFERSON

STRUTHERS, OH-  Pitcher Rob Tomko had all the right stuff on Monday for the Struthers Wildcats, allowing zero runs and besting Jefferson by a score of 4-0.

In the first inning, the Wildcats got their offense started. Struthers scored one run when Tomko singled.  Tomko, JD Hall, and Billy Opritza all contributed ribbies for the Cats.

One bright spot for Jefferson Area was a single by Braydon Throop in the second inning.

Tomko was also the winning pitcher for Struthers. He went seven innings, allowing zero runs scattering four hits and striking out seven.  Andrew Vance took the loss for Jefferson Area. He went six innings, allowing four runs on seven hits and striking out eight.

Leading the way for the Struthers’ sticks was Billy Opritza with two hits in three at-bats. Struthers was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Hunter Stellato made the most plays with nine.
