TOTH IS NEAR UNTOUCHABLE

CANFIELD OH- There are so many amazing pitchers in the area softball world this season. With that being said, you have to be particularly special to stand out in a crowd of talent.  For Canfield’s Malena Toth, it’s been a season that has been mighty close to untouchable. Facing strong lineup after strong lineup, Toth has been setting them up and knocking them down.  The Junior Cardinal led her team to regionals last year, and after getting a taste of that level you can see fire in her eyes this season to get back.  You don’t have to try hard to see it either, Toth is fairly upfront about the fact that she wants to get this team to a state championship.  Of course a lot of teams say that, when Toth says it you feel a little gravity to it. It’s not just a hope, it’s almost an insatiable hunger to will the Cardinals to Firestone Stadium.

It’s true that this Canfield team is not short of leadership, with eight seniors on the roster you can’t throw a stone without hitting a Vidal member of the team. But as the lock down ace, most eyes are drawn to the junior Toth. She may not be a senior yet, but you better believe she leads this team. Everyone looks to her to set the tone.  That tone that she sets is more times than not straight up dominance.

Malena was gracious enough to take some time to talk about her season and career with YSN’s Anthony Hartwig.  They talk about how she’s been able to be so successful this season, what some of her biggest goals are this year, and so much more.
